You're right that a little acknowledgment goes a long way on a social chain. A big part of what Love-Scout tries to do is make sure new authors do not feel like they are posting into a void—small, concrete nudges (communities to check out, people to follow, a clear next step) can be the difference between someone sticking around and quietly leaving.
