Site promotion using forums

in #marketing2 years ago (edited)

The problem of getting links from other sites is a traditional problem for beginners. In principle, any newbie who wants to get good enough links to his site for promotion in search engines can do it relatively easily and understands what he is doing. This method is quite simple - you need to move towards those resources that are well promoted at the same time, but at the same time allow the possibility of adding links. There are many types of such resources, but the most interesting in this regard are blogs, guest books, and forums.

In this article, I decided to stop and talk about the method of building backlinks using forums and tell a little about the beauty of forums for creating a good mass of links. Forums are a fairly old type of site, while they are widely used. Let's figure out what forums can be interesting for promoting the site. First, there are a lot of them online today and they are easier to find than blogs or guest books. Secondly, forums are filled with content much more actively than average blogs or guest books. Well, the third distinctive circumstance, and the decisive one, is that only on the forum you can create your own topic and fill it with the necessary content, which is designed to "rehabilitate" links in front of search engines. And if on blogs or in guest books the links inevitably go down to the archives, where their indexing by search engines is often difficult, then on forums the topic (theme) with links can be raised to the top of the section every time, where they will always be within the reach of search engines.

All forums can be divided into three main categories:

  • Useless forums
That is, these forums are closed for indexing by search engines, so links from them have no practical weight. This is done by the owners of the resources on purpose in order to repel the interest of any spammers in their resources. The rest of the forums are generally closed to outsiders, that is, the owners of such forums use these resources exclusively for spamming their own resources. Of course, you can create your own topic and post a link to it, but after a while, this topic will be deleted automatically, so you can safely exclude such a forum from your database.
  • Abandoned forums
These are forums that the owners forget about, allowing all kinds of spammers to dispose of them, but these forums are still indexed by search engines. If you add a link to such a forum, then, as they say, "the weather won't do it", but if there are a hundred or two such forums in the database, then you can already talk about some kind of success. Some beginners work tirelessly in search of such forums, and often even use some free programs that allow not only to parse (search) such forums in large numbers but also to make a mass, automatic mailing in them. In this case, quantity equates to quality, because if one forum has low trust in search engines, then a mass of such forums will perfectly replace a few well-promoted, fat resources-donors of a mass of links in terms of effectiveness.
  • Moderated forums and generally well promoted
Such forums often have a lot of traffic and high trust in search engines. Each link from such a forum is very important, in addition, such links to the advertised resource can "merge" and quite a large part of the forum traffic. Having only a dozen or two such forums in your database, you can very quickly and reliably promote not only one of your sites but also many others. Some craftsmen even manage to sell links from such forums (from other people's resources!) for good money, but this is a completely different story.

However, such "fat" forums have one rather significant drawback, it is quite difficult to put a link to your resource from them. And the matter here is not a technical problem - everything is fine with that. The point here is the moderators, who relentlessly monitor newly registered users, suspecting everyone of spamming. Why is a forum usually created? In order for third-party users to fill it with unique and, most importantly, interesting content in the form of any discussions, discussions, and last but not least, advertising. Advertising consists of a description of a product or service and a link accompanying this content. However, advertising is only allowed to hold, most verified users. And newcomers must prove their loyalty with good posts and participate in discussions, and the more interesting newcomers conduct all discussions, the faster they will become verified, and the less suspicion they will arouse in moderators. And, finally, the moment will come when the newcomer will turn into a full-fledged member of the forum community and will be able to post any links he likes, without violating the rules of the forum, of course.

Thus, we see that the last two options are better each in their own way. In both cases, you can achieve good results, but at the same time, you will have to work hard. If you set a goal in front of yourself and firmly go towards it, then in the first case you can quite quickly collect hundreds and even thousands of forums that are not moderated. In the second case, several dozen of forums will be enough, but you will have to try to become your own on all these forums. Only at the same time, it should be taken into account that forums that are not moderated sooner or later disappear ("die"), moreover, additional preferences in the form of traffic from them are very, very unlikely. And in the case of moderated forums, you don't have to worry about the durability of your links, and if you promote your site well enough, you can get a lot of targeted (targeted) visitors.
