First meme dump in nearly a month

in #memelast year

I haven't been very good lately at scouring through the trash on 9-gag in order to find something good to bring to you.

9-gag has been inundated with a ton of politics and previously it was all Russia or Ukraine propaganda. The community is supposed to be self-moderating via votes but lately it almost seems as though 9gag is skirting the system in order to get the message of whoever owns it out there. I don't know if that is true but almost all political or Ukraine posts are filled with comments stating that they are sick and tired of this crap invading a meme site but then again, we don't have to look at it do we?

So 9-gag has been considerably less fun lately but there are some gems in there that made me laugh or had some sort of relevance to my own life and here they are!

I'm a redneck when it comes to beer. I'm also quite frugal when it comes to something that I don't think even tastes very good but hey! I'm in it for the alcohol and good times. Here in Vietnam craft beers seem to be featured on a regular basis despite the fact that almost no one even wants it. Some places intentionally ONLY stock craft beers and ignore cheap and local lagers. This is a sure-fire way to get me to not hang out at your bar. The few times I have delved into craft beers over here I have left not understanding why a craft beer costs 5 times as much as a "regular beer." I don't find them tasty and the price is unjustified.

I've never been to Europe but I have heard stories about how they are not strangers to booze over there either. I have a couple of friends here that drink vodka like it is water and it is just amusing to me that a country would have vodka in what appears to be a child's juice box.

This is not comedy of course but instead something that makes you feel apathetic about the world's leaders and how any nation is moving forward. I distanced myself from politics, especially USA ones, quite some time ago. Even though I don't really care who is running a country as long as my passport remains valid these points are still kind of scary and unfortunately, likely very true. It should be noted that reposts of Tweets are frowned upon in 9gag but since I do not use Twitter I would never see these things otherwise.

I recently started watching Trailer Park Boys again from the start even though I have seen all the episodes. Ricky is an absolutely amazing character and his words of wisdom are one of the main reasons why I like the show. Plus I am a big believer in "self smarts" rather than something like a college education.

I may have posted this one already but I want you to try to read that and not hear David Attenborough's voice. This one also relates to booze but while I don't do it very often anymore there was a time where I would get near blackout drunk every night, wake up in my house (thankfully) and have no recollection of how it is that I got back there. Normally there would be some takeout containers in the living room with friend stuff that I don't remember eating. I try to live a bit more responsibly these days and limit my intake to 4 days a week and less than 8 drinks on those 4 days. Only in my world would this be considered an accomplishment.

Although this is not technically a meme it has been making the rounds on 9gag anyway and the comments section on them are pure gold. I don't know what drives Hollywood to do stuff like this especially since all of the all-girl remakes have bombed hard. The most memorable of which was the Ghostbusters girl power remix and despite the negative press I watched it anyway and yes, it is just as bad as people have suggested. Of course the makers of the film will immediately blame the patriarchy or some other such nonsense but honestly, why would they try to do this to legendary films? I don't even want them to remake Fight Club at all. It is just begging for failure.

Alright, that's gonna god it and sorry that the funny just wasn't really there this time around. I blame the fact that 9gag has become yet another propaganda outlet and people need to get back to focusing on the funny. If I wanted to argue with strangers on the internet about politics, I would use Facebook.

The self smarted one is gold lol

watch more Trailer Park Boys if you haven't already. He is a treasure trove of great quotes

Haha I’ll check it out. I live in North Carolina so i hear similar things at the local Walmart, it’s comedy on a daily basis around here 😂

I lived there for a while as well.. on the East side. You are correct about the characters that seem to always inhabit the local Wal Mart. Target attracts a slightly more upmarket crowd :)

This is the second attempt to reply to this post. The first time I think I constructed a reply longer than your post 😂 in the end, the app crashed. So forgive me of this reply "sounded" a little impatience.

I just wanted to tell you, I actually can't tell apart draft or craft beer. As long they're coming right out from the keg, I'm happy with the bubbles. However, if the bar owner come and sit around and tell us the story about the craft beer, I think it will taste much better even if it's just a glass a Bud 😂

I'm ok with the vodka in box. I'm not on with chicken wing in a plastic bag.

My biggest fear is, I get drunk easily, but not drunk' drunk. After a glass or two, I will be in the high state for a very long time when I know(remember) I'm drunk. After that point... I will be waking up at weirdest place. Once at the car park floor. Once on my car at the hill top. Once in the hotel toilet, naked. And usually those drinking buddy do not invite me second time 😂

i love the last .gif. I'm sure that has been me at many times in my life.. haha!

That first beer one really speaks to me. I do enjoy craft beers, but I am not a fan of IPA's. They all taste like pine needles to me. I may as well be drinking gin. Bleh! I've tried numerous ones and I just can't bring myself to like them except for maybe one or two exceptions. I'm guessing pretty soon all of the world cup memes will likely start. Yeah, Fight Club should not be remade. I'd like to go back and read the book sometime, but I am not a fast reader, so I don't really do it as much as I should.

I have tried and tried and tried to understand craft beer fanboi stuff but I just don't. Perhaps it is because I am a borderline alcoholic and can't really understand why anyone would ever drink alcohol because they like the way it tastes. For me, if i really wanted something that tastes good... it wouldn't be beer at all. I only drink it because it is cheap.

I like some of the flavors but the prices are out of control. I remember seeing a limited run super hoppy beer that people apparently love. It was like $15 for one 12oz can and I was like yeah nope.

$15 for a can of beer... now that is crazy talk.

That Vodka juice box is hilarious. Why not, I guess?

I totally resonate with the 'craft beer' one. I have a hipster friend who is always trying to get me to drink some weird shit that always tastes like ass.

My favorite beer is randomly made by a tea company. It's called "Tetley's Smooth Flow". It has an oddly creamy taste and goes down super smooth. I have only ever seen it in England though. Good stuff!

I've always been a huge fan of the trailer park boys. The show was very interesting and fun. But I think the later Seasons they kind of fell off a bit, the earlier ones were pure genius!
