Ever since I stepped back from Facebook a few months ago I have found that I am happier, more productive, and never get into political arguments with anyone over their stupid opinion, nor do I have to see them do this process with a bunch of people that I know they are friends with or at least were because we were all pals back in high school or college.
Now I fill that time with looking at meme's on 9-gag whenever I have to stand in line or sit in a taxi or wait in general and I feel this is a far more productive use of time. Here are some of the ones that made me chuckle enough to save.
I have quite a few Canadian friends and I pick on them a bit about harmless stuff like this. I have never been to Canada but I did live in Michigan, Minnesota, and Norther Illinois so I am no stranger to crazy snow situations. It has, however, been nearly 20 years since I have even seen snow IRL.
Does this qualify as a meme? I don't think it does but it is still a funny statement. It is probably from some sort of stand up comedian like Mitch Hedberg who specialized in one-liners.
I do not have any children but I know a great many people who do. I asked one of them if this was an accurate representation of how his son was because I knew that he and his wife did all that they could to make sure that he was not one of those kids that cries for attention all the time. I've seen his kid knock the absolute shit out of his head and since his parents didn't react when he was young unless it was something serious, he doesn't look at this as an opportunity to cry. He'll make a great MMA fighter one day.
Everyone mellows with age. The other day I was watching a video for a death metal band that I like and they were all playing golf in it and behaving very not death metally. All the boys in GnR are 50 something now. Feel old yet?
This isn't funny but it does apply to my own life. I never really grew up and this is not something I am at all ashamed of. I left the USA nearly 20 years ago even though I was headed towards a promising career and most likely lots of money / family / eventual divorce etc. It just wasn't for me. These days I spend my days doing basically whatever I want and a little bit of work and I hope it remains that way forever.
As an American when you move overseas among an expat community you will discover a couple of things. You will be told by the Brits that you are saying (insert whatever here) wrong, you will realize that Canadians really are apologetic about everything, and if you have the good fortune of meeting some Scots, you will struggle to understand them. This is just the way the world works.
Going back to the Canadians for a second. This is just funny because it is silly. I realize it is Twitter not 9-gag but a lot of stuff get's reposted there from Twitter. This upsets some of the users but since I don't use Twitter I would miss out on these gems if people didn't repost them. Therefore, I'm cool with it
Lastly, I'll leave you with this. Today is Tuesday (I live in the future for all of you that are still on Monday night) and we do Taco Tuesday all the way over here in Vietnam as well. They aren't as good as tacos back "home" but we do what we can.

Those are all really awesome this time! I have totally had a couple morning commutes this year that I couldn't tell if I was on the road or not. It was pretty nasty. When the wind starts blowing the snow it can be really dangerous. Good thing I have a big truck like most Muricans. :) Kids are pretty funny like that. They can literally fall, stand there and stare at you and not react at all until you acknowledge they may have gotten hurt! Awesome stuff. I was a bit worried when I didn't see your bowling wrap up post yesterday!
