Today I wanted to reach back into the archives of our photos and grab some from Italy!
Monochrome Monday: Cinque Terre
One of the things that I've been very lucky to have done in my lifetime is to travel over to Italy. My family is from there, at least that's how we've been told (you never know with some people, they only lived there for a couple decades before leaving lol) and very few in my family has ever been back over there. Not only did we go back there, we spent some time in some incredible places like Cinque Terre!
Cinque Terre is one of the most iconic places to visit on the coast of Italy and it draws crowds of people from all over the world. For good reason, the beautiful cliffs and terraced housing combined with the fantastic warm water and weather make it for quite an incredible place. It was certainly as much as it lived up to be!
We didn't get to spend that much time here sadly, but we did get the chance to visit for a full day tour. We were left to our own devices for a few hours so we knew that we wanted to walk around and check out some of the beaches, shops and other things in the area. This was the little nested harbor.
Looking out into the bay was incredible. The warmth you can see in this picture is awesome, the haze to it is palpable almost! There were all kinds of boats everywhere enjoying the beautiful coastline.
What we really loved, albeit it was a little sketchy, was the beach! The beach here was unreal, it was incredibly beautiful and it had so many wonderful things to see and experience. One of the tough parts is that my wife and I didn't get to go into the water together because the area was famous for its pickpockets and people who were going to swipe your stuff off the beach for the unsuspecting traveler. We sadly didn't have a waterproof bag or anything so one of us was in the water while the other one was on the sand. It was still enjoyable though! The water was incredible with how warm it was. It was good to be able to say that we were there.
In a couple days I'll post the color versions of these but I wanted to at least get the good ones here for the black and white edit for Monochrome Monday!

There's are really nice photos. I wonder if you take photos, then edit it to monochrome. Or you can set it on your camera automatic !

I take the photos of course then edit them later! I have some very specific photos I took in black and white from the get go, this is one of them! One of my faves for sure!

Without reading, I almost guessed Italy.
Great you were able to visit it and get the feel for the country. Especially as your family came from there.

Haha yeah it’s very easy to pick Italy out while looking at some pictures! It’s a beautiful place indeed and we are so happy we got to see it once. I fear that we may never get to see the beautiful country again and that’s a real shame!
It is a beautiful country. That’s a shame, but never say never… you never know 😉
