Blang Padang Field in Banda Aceh City, Indonesia, is indeed a historic place. Peter Mundy, a British traveler recorded a big event in Blang Padang. In the book Sumatra Tempoe Doeloe, it is stated that Peter Mundy arrived in Banda Aceh from April 22 to May 2, 1637, several months after the death of Sultan Iskandar Muda.

A great celebration of the Feast of Sacrifice was held at Blang Padang, on April 26, 1637. Dignitaries in the fleet and the townspeople were invited to the celebration.

In Blang Padang there are also two planes that were donated by the people of Aceh to the Republic of Indonesia at the beginning of the independence period.

This 8-hectare field is also a disputed land that is claimed to belong to the Iskandar Muda Military District Command. With a jogging track surrounding the field and around it is inscriptions of the flags of the countries that helped Aceh during the tsunami, Blang Padang is now a public space. every morning and evening many residents come to Blang Padang, to exercise or enjoy the surrounding atmosphere.[]
