No successful person will be ashamed to do what is gainful. After all, you are not born to impress people, but to produce results. Success will always grow in the hands of the people who will show up, put in effort, work, and be proud of their labour, not those who are embarrassed of what they are doing. If you must achieve success, then you must be ready to put in hard work, and some of these may not even look convenient, but very necessary. Whatever good you do that brings money into your pocket and puts food on your table, you should be proud of it. Trust me, shame will not build anything for you, rather it will destroy your confidence. So be proud of your work.

I have a friend who, after his secondary school, while he was attending the University, he was also attached as an apprentice to learn business, and also as a side hustle. He told me the nature of the business, which is sewage disposal, so I encouraged him. However, he told me that some of his classmates are mocking him that he is into "shit business." I simply told him that he should be proud of his labour and there is dignity in it. He continued in the business and was saving money. By the time he graduated from the University, he had already made some money from his side hustle, which is the sewage business.
With the money he made from the hustle, and the experiences and knowledge he had gathered, he was able to start up his own sewage disposal business. While some of the classmates who mocked him were going about applying to get a job after graduation, he was doing very well in business and was an employer of labour. At this moment he owns about 3 sewage trucks, and he inscribed on them "shit money does not smell." This is a reminder that one has to be proud of their honest hustle and their labour. People may talk, they may even judged you, but you should not be swayed by that, you need to keep up with what you are doing. If my friend had been discouraged by the words of his classmates, he would have missed out of making real cash in the sewage industry.
A lot of people hold themselves back from fully engaging in their work because they are scared of the judgment of people. They fear what others will perceive of their work. What they need to understand is that they should fear poverty and "brokeness" more than the opinions of others. No one actually makes it big in business by totally hiding from others. You will definitely need others in order to excel in what you do. You may not be in a white-collar job, but it does not mean that your work is not important. In fact, it is very important. Talk about bricklayers, gardeners, cleaners, barbers, mechanics, tailors, etc, are all important and are part of the backbones of any society. When you do your work with pride, you will tread on the path where other geat achievers have trodden.

Do not allow shame to make you shrink or to be doubtful of the very thing that is putting food on your table and putting money in your pocket. Do not allow shame to make you to keep silent when you should be celebrating your wins and your progresses. At the end, the people who you are hiding in shame for will not care about you, they will not pay your bills, and will not even be there for you if you go broke. So face what you are doing with pride, and give it all it takes.
If you chose hard work, and you are bold, consistent, and committed to it, you will be surprised the kind of doors that will be opened to you. You also build skills and gather experiences by your hard work, and it will make you a better human. More so, you will attract more opportunities by your hard work, and by being proud of your labour. When you are building your story of glory, your work becomes a very important aspect of it. So have dignity for your labour, because it is part of what builds your future.
