Your Little Kindness Matters A Lot

in #motivation3 years ago

The value of an act of kindness is not measured in the volume of what is done but in the heart from which it comes from, the relevance, the willingness, and the timeliness of the kindness. There are sometimes that a seemingly small act of kind will hold more importance to the beneficiary when it is done timely, than a huge kindness that has been delayed so much that it has lost relevance. This is why, as the day passes, you have to try as much as is within your capacity to be a channel of blessing to someone, no matter how little it may look.

The world has grown in cruelty that the person you meet in your day may be fighting a hidden battle, and a little helping hand or an act of kindness may be all that the person will require; not just to brighten their day but to restore their faith back in humanity. Trust me, being kind is one of the core duties of humankind, which makes us humans. As a matter of fact, when you are faced with the choice of picking your next action between being kind or being right, the former will be more appreciated than trying to be right and end up being inhuman and inhumane.

There are times that what someone may call "little kindness," might mean the world to someone else and will make a great impact for them. Someone that is going through a bad day, a seemingly small smile from the heart to them might brighten their day and keep them on their feet. This is why I believe that kindness should come from the heart for it to count greatly. Of course, people will know the difference between an act of kindness that comes from the heart and others, because the former triggers positive emotions.

Nothing builds bridges among people like acts of kindness and goodness. Story was told of a young village boy who was coming back from his regular weekend football games. After playing a tiresome game in a very rocky village pitch, he was going home very tired, then he saw an old woman returning from the market and carrying some luggages on her head. At first, he tried to look away, obviously he had every reason to, because he was very tired. But on a second thought, he decided to go help the woman to carry the luggages since they were both going towards the same direction.

The woman felt so relieved and as they were going, the woman asked calmly "my son, what are you doing currently?" The boy replied that he finished from secondary school and wants to enter the football academy, and has applied but was not taken. The woman told him that one of his sons is the manager in one of the football academies in the country and he will be coming home the next week. He asked the boy to come to her house by next week that she will recommend him to the son. The day came and the boy got to the woman's house and just like a dream of the night, the boy was asked to report at the academy the next day. That was how he gained entrance into the academy by his simple act of kindness that he used to build the bridge between him, the old woman, and her son.

When you see anyone in need and you know that it is within your power to help, you do not need anyone to motivate you to help. You may be surprised that it is the kindness that you show to someone today that will qualify you for a greater kindness tomorrow. More so, the person you helped today may become your future destiny-helper.

One thing to always have in mind is that, by helping someone and by showing acts of kindness, you are also doing good to yourself, because it makes you to become a better human. More so, there is a level of joy that is triggered right within your soul when you know that someone is happy because of the acts of goodness and kindness that is done for them.

The power behind kindness is so much that everyone should cultivate it as a lifestyle. Trust me, people will be moved to favour you if they remark you for kindness than for cruelty. So whatever you do, try to allow your kindness to be expressed.
