Posting Anxiety? Stop having it!

Fear of posting...

Writing is not easy but it isn't hard either! It's all about imagination, it's all about letting the words that flow out of you be written and carved down in a piece of paper, It's all about having no barriers.

I know many people that fear posting, they fear what others might think about what they write. They fear the judgment of other people! And this is especially hard on blockchains.

Each word that you write down on a blockchain is forever etched on that same blockchain, for all eternity, or at least until the blockchain goes down...which is near impossible. Each misspell, each hostil comment, each fight, everything is forever carved down on the blockchain for everyone to see. How can you not feel anxiety when writing on a blockchain?! I felt it when I first started!

Every single time I wrote a post and I was about to engrave it on the blockchain a profound anxiety feeling that dwelled deep down inside me took over my body... "What if people don't like this post?" "What if I made a mistake?" "What if I'm wrong about my opinion?" "What if...""What if..."
"what if...".

I had way too many what ifs, and I know that I had them, my father always told me I suffer in anticipation, and I know he is right...

I'm very logical about the majority of things, and I always like to question everything, I guess I never left what the Portuguese call "A idade dos porquês?", the age where young toddlers question everything, and I mean EVERYTHING about the world. Ranging from why they should eat to why they should brush their teeth... They question so much that even the parent's sanity starts to be in question...

All this questioning made me have a lot of post anxiety when I first started, especially when people that I knew in real life read what I was writing... my main obstacle was Judgement. What if I start being judged by my fellow countryman for what was writing! I know how people can be, people can be assholes... huge dirty hairy assholes that judge you for the rest of your life because of one single mistake. Well... I had this and was able to overcome it the first time, and now, that I started writing again, I went back to having it... and that's why I'm writing about it.

Do you know the solution to this problem? I know the solution to this problem... Not giving a fu*# about other's opinions!

Stop giving a fuck about what other people think about you, don't try to appeal to the whole world... How the hell are you going to appeal to 7.7 billions of human? It's impossible... Try to appeal to a part of humanity, try to appeal to people like you, if you feel proud and like your own content I'm sure that people with the same interests you have will also like it. Write what you want and feel damn proud about it! Don't give a fuck about what the haters are saying! Haters gonna hate...Just let the words flow out of you as a river flows to the ocean. This is STEEM, we are a community, most won't judge and will help.

Question of the day: Did you feel posting-fear when you first started? Do you still feel it? Have you read "The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck"? I've been meaning to read it...

Great post - this anxiety of others holds u all back from time to time but as you note - find your niche and off you go! I think it was Marcus Aurelius who noted our greater love for ourselves than for others but nonetheless our great anxiety about their opinions of us.

Where did Marcus Aurelius write that? Is it in his book "meditations"?

I started the same way and limited my engagement to comments but as the experience grew and I engaged more, I was encouraged to write and while I know I am far from doing a great job, I feel that I can get the point across and communicate. This is all about sharing and learning as we grow!

Exactly like me, I started with comments and advanced to posting, at first I was always scared of posting, after a while the scared feeling went away. I know that I'm not the best content creator, I mainly like to use STEEM to:

  • Be part of something, a community, a project, a blockchain

  • Motivate and monetize my proactive behavior in searching, learning and growing new projects

  • Get to know new people from all over the world

Thanks for reading :)

"Each word that you write down on a blockchain is forever etched on that same blockchain"

Is it, really? Remember that article I posted on Telegram yesterday, to which no one answered? Where's the original content of that? Something's fishy.

I was looking into that, and I am still looking into it tbh... I also didn't find the unedited post, but there must be something, maybe back then only posts with 7 days were etched on the blockchain forever, which means that any edit before the 7 days wouldn't be on the blockchain... I really don't know, I also find it weird, but I'll check with my sources and see if I can find the original

Nope. What's in the blockchain should be there forever. Like you see, my old posts have an Edit History:

https://steemdb.com/challenge/@trincowski/what-have-i-learnt-last-week-or-learn-and-earn-initiative-week-16/edits

If there are edited posts which don't have an Edit History, then someone has tampered with the blockchain... or this isn't a blockchain at all. Whatever the answer is, it's very suspicious.

Are there users who can replace an original transaction altogether, making it look like the original information was never there? If yes, then what level of trust can we put into this "blockchain"?

You are comparing a transaction from 1 year ago to one days ago, I think things have changed... I think that back in the old days most edits were stored for 7 days on a central server and only the final version went to the blockchain, thus making the blockchain less space heavy, but also no edits could be seen, now with the increase in space and increase in tech every edit is kept on the blockchain. But I'm not sure about this... I still remember how posts could only be edited in 7 days, if not they would never be changed.

Nice words, i like the "doesnt give a shit" feeling, coz its so helpful in life :D

Btw, how can i check, what kind of tokens have the freedomex?

Freedomex.io still doesn't have any tokens that I know off, I think with the steem engine launch they didn't really pick up any steam, I'll have to revisit them and see what is happening with their exchange, maybe I'll do a post about it this week

Now that's something I normally don't suffer at all... anxiety by anticipation :) I would stress at first when I didn't had any ideas about what to post, or not enough time to try and make a decent post... until I came to my senses and realised a couple of days without posting wouldn't kill me ;)

I do worry about things like quality and so forth. But then again, sometimes the stuff I sweat over doesn't even earn back $0.10, so I wonder if it's worth it sometimes. I mean, it's still more than any other social media site, but still it's not really enough to make a living with.
Well, not yet anyway.
