in #movies4 years ago

A young African-American visits his white girlfriend's parents for the weekend, where his simmering uneasiness about their reception of him eventually reaches a boiling point.

Get Out is a horror movie by the well known YouTube star Jordan Peele. It is his second mainstream movie, the first being Keanu.

The movie stars Daniel Kaluuya as the main protagonist. In my opinion, he was absolutely perfect for this role and is extremely charismatic and likable. You immediately develop a bond with his character and his journey becomes an emotional roller coaster. If you are a Black Mirror fan, you likely remember him from the episode Fifteen Million Merits. One of my favorite Black Mirror episodes.

I usually can predict where a movie is going fairly quickly, Hollywood doesn't have many tricks up their sleeves and tend to play the same tropes over and over again, even when they try to throw a curve ball they tend to be foreseen early in Act II. Get Out does a good job of keeping you on your toes and throwing a curve ball that will actually strike you out.

I love horror & thriller movies and Get Out delivered in spades.

I haven't seen Keanu yet, but Get Out gives me the impression Jordan Peele isn't done making his mark in Hollywood.

Rating

IMDb rates Get Out as 7.7, and I have to agree with that rating. Anything over 7 I tend to find to be among the best movies. 8.0+ tend to be the smash hits and classic favorites.

I really enjoyed the movie. It had the right amount of thrill.and creepiness. The way that girlfriend (forget her name) eats her cereal - deconstructed is hilarious hahaha. Her conversation on the phone when she is acting emotions was super creepy as well. Great movie

I remember watching this movie and became paranoid. Lol

This was such an odd movie to watch but you are right, he is a great Actor!

Seen his new one? Not as good, but still worth it...
