We made our twitch channel about 2 years ago when we decided to start doing livestreams. We weren't sure about it as we were (and still are) new to the platform but we were very inspired by some of the musicians we saw on there, especially the duo that goes by the name aeseaes or a_couple_streams. They sound beautiful and their setup was just so clean and cozy that it made us want to try to do something similar. Boy, were we out of our league! lol

👆They sound like a record👆. And they always find a way to make whatever coversong their own which we greatly respect. But therein lies our dilemma. We started doing livestreams where we sang both original music and also some covers and although we had an amazing time (and we aren't necessarily done with these kind of streams), after doing several we soon realized that we had a very small pool of songs which kinda messes with the interactive nature of Twitch. Accounts like aeseaes have lists of songs that viewers can go on during and before the livestreams and make requests (Something we didn't necessarily feel ready to offer). These two can sing ANYTHING you request, its amazing. AND on top of that they somehow find a way to continue to create new original, gorgeous music and put it out regularly. Theyve been doing this for a long time. We love them. That is clear. And they were even kind enough to answer our questions when we were starting out and reached out asking for help and advice. Very kind.

Anyway!

We only did like 2 streams on Twitch and decided to continue them on YouTube. Our followers really enjoyed them. They always make their way to hear us sing the couple of 80s and 90s tunes that we know well and really enjoy singing along with whichever original they request that night (we would do them Wednesday nights). In 2020, due to several reasons (work, life, covid, etc.) we took a hiatus from these regular YouTube livestreams and didn't do them until Valentines Day when we did a stream which felt great. We hadn't sung in a while and it was amazing to be with our fans, friends and family for a bit spending some good QT singing tunes.

Now back to Twitch!

We got a notification from our digital distribution provider DISTROKID stating they just joined forces with Twitch which automatically makes anyone who uses their service to distribute music an affiliate. This turned on a light bulb in our heads after discussing how we make zero dollars off of our YouTube videos since we still don't meet the necessary requirements to start earning on there (despite thousands of views and followers).

We decided we're going to give our Twitch some love again. But this time doing what we love most: writing and producing music! It's why we created BREAK OUT THE CRAZY in the first place. Our love of songwriting is what keeps our fire burning. This is why we started coming up with our plan for 2021 and the foreseen future on Twitch.

THE PLAN

We will be regularly live streaming songwriting sessions from our home studio (still cant say how often). We will attempt to complete an entire song in each session, including recording a demo which after the stream is uploaded to Soundcloud. After 3 songs are written on the stream we will open it up to a vote. Once we reach our donation goal we will use that money to fully produce, record, mix and master (essentially complete) the song with the most votes. We have a really good feeling about this, mainly because we KNOW we can deliver. There's nothing we love more than writing songs together, all kinds of songs, in a bunch of different genres and styles. We are SUPER excited to get to doing more of these songwriting live streams. And not only are they fun for us, but anyone who loves music and is looking to maybe learn a thing or two, or if you're just looking for some inspiration.

But, don't take our word for it!

We just did our first songwriting live stream session. You can go check it out here:

The reason it is spread in 2 videos is because at the end of our first session yesterday we had to stop to go do an interview. So, today we went on and completed the vocal and made some small tweaks to the song. Next time, we hope to complete the whole thing in one session. Let's see how it goes!

We're incredibly proud of how good this one came out and we can't wait for the next one.

Follow us on Twitch and join in on some more live songwriting and production!

Please let us know what you think of our new song and let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions for this new project.

Thank you always for your support!
