Rau, recht überschaubare Produktion, aber mit viel hörbarem Potenzial. Fällt aus heutiger Sicht im direkten Vergleich natürlich eher ab, im grossen Ganzen aber ein recht typisches „erstes“ Album, welches die Band heute gewiss so nicht mehr veröffentlichen würde 🙂
Rough, quite manageable production, but with a lot of audible potential. From today's perspective, of course, in a direct comparison is rather off, but on the whole a quite typical "first" album, which would certainly not publish the band today so 🙂
2005 Killing with a Smile

Killing with a Smile überzeugt mit einer wesentlich fetteren Produktion als sein Vorgänger. Harte Riffs, Breakdowns ohne Ende… jedoch fehlt das gewisse Etwas. Sehr verspielt und experimentell phasenweise, sicher ein gelungenes Werk, aber eher nicht zum öfter reinhören. Eher ein kleiner Schritt in die richtige Richtung.
Killing with a Smile convinces with a much richer production than its predecessor. Hard riffs, breakdowns without end ... but that certain something is missing. Very playful and experimental in phases, certainly a successful work, but rather not to listen more often. Rather a small step in the right direction.
2007 Horizons

Das verflixte dritte Album. Ich muss ehrlich gestehen, dass ich der Band nach Horizons diese steile folgende Karriere nicht mehr zugetraut hätte. Ja, es ist ein qualitativ hochwertiges Metalcore Album, sticht aber nicht sonderlich aus der Masse heraus. 2010 Deep Blue

Ein bisschen härter, Verzicht auf clean vocals, neuer Produzent, fertig ist das bisher fetteste und prägenste Album der Australier. Die zum Teil sehr heftigen Songs passen perfekt zu den Growls und Shouts von Fronter Winston McCall. Die dreijährige Wartezeit hat sich also allemal gelohnt, da auf „Deep Blue“ kein einziger schwacher Song zu verzeichnen ist.
A bit harder, renouncement of clean vocals, new producer, finished is the hitherto fattest and most distinctive album of the Australians. The sometimes very violent songs fit perfectly with the growls and shouts of frontman Winston McCall. The three-year wait has always been worth it, as there is not a single weak song on "Deep Blue".
2012 Atlas

Wer nach „Deep Blue“ noch an dem Triumphzug von Parkway Drive durch die weltweite Metalcore-Szene gezweifelt hatte, wird mit „Atlas“ eines Besseren belehrt. In Zeiten, in denen sich viele Genre-Nachbarn selbst kopieren, erfinden PW selbige einmal komplett neu. Die Band veröffentlichte ein Album mit derben Growls und atemberaubenden Breakdowns, das selbst nach mehrmaligen Durchläufen nicht langweilig wird.
Anyone who had doubted the triumphal procession of Parkway Drive by the worldwide Metalcore scene after "Deep Blue" will be challenged with "Atlas". In times when many genre neighbors copy themselves, PW invented them once again completely. The band released an album of brutal growls and breathtaking breakdowns that will not get boring even after repeated runs.
2015 Ire

Was war vorab in den Foren nicht alles zu lesen. „Untergang des Metalcore“, „Letzter Sargnagel“ und viel mehr. Der Band wurde der Untergang prophezeit. Letztendlich gingen sie nur konsequent ihren eigenen Werdegang weiter und setzen mit IRE einen Meilenstein für sich selbst und das gesamte Genre.
What was not in the forums read everything in advance. "Fall of the Metalcore", "Last Coffin Nail" and much more. The band was prophesied the downfall. Ultimately, they just consistently continued their own career and set a milestone for themselves and the entire genre with IRE.
2018 Reverence

Ich hatte ja schon fast ein wenig Angst, als „Reverence“ veröffentlicht wurde. So heftig war der Zerriss innerhalb der Szene. Angeblich sei die Band nun endgültig im Mainstream angekommen. Aha. Wer genau bestimmt eigentlich was Mainstream ist? Und was genau ist so schlimm daran? Wo der eine sagt: „die sind aber soft geworden“ sagt meine Schwester: „das Gebrülle kann ja keiner ertragen“. 🙂 Ich jedenfalls feiere das Album sehr, trifft es doch genau meinen musikalischen Gaumen. Auch die damit einhergehende Bühnenshow ist brutal gut. Vielleicht doch ein Indiz dafür, dass die Band jetzt Mainstream ist. Who cares?
I was almost a little scared when Reverence was released. So severe was the tearing in the scene. Allegedly, the band has finally arrived in the mainstream. Aha. Who exactly determines what is mainstream? And what exactly is wrong with that? Where one says: "but they have become soft" says my sister: "no one can bear the roar". 🙂 Jeden In any case, I celebrate the album a lot, it hits my musical palate. The accompanying stage show is brutally good. Maybe an indication that the band is now mainstream. Who cares?
