Pick your favorite Hey Joe version of the heap or bring your own to win 10 hives.

in #music3 years ago

Today is unofficially celebrated the anniversary and worldwide day of one of the most legendary songs that has been covered more times in the history of Rock & Roll. Everywhere throughout the years. Which is none other than the very popular song "Hey Joe" favorite of children, youngsters and seniors since the early 60s.

An unforgettable song through generations that even nowadays still generates controversy about who was its original author. And as my tribute to its memory and in celebration of its unofficial day. I have decided to launch a little contest.

But first a bit of history:

The most known "official" versions:

Alright! from here onwards is where the contest begins. Below I have established four musical categories for which I have selected five different versions of the song Hey Joe which are my favorites in each of these categories.

Your job consist in select only one cover/version of each category and let us know in the comments section of this post which are your fab four. And after this is done, you must finally choose only one of these four as the overall unanimous winner above all the others versions presented in this post.

¿How to win the contest and the 10 hive prize?

Assuming there is a quorum and a sufficient number of contestants. A raffle will be held in 7 days among those who have selected the most popular version that has been chosen and voted most frequently among all these that appears in this post.

Otherwise, you simply could win automatically and unanimously if you rather decide to bring a new version that is your favorite and that not being among the ones already selected in this post, it could be the most voted by the participants. };)

1. My main Blues/Rock cover picks:

2. My Soul/Funky cover picks:

3. My Garage/Psychedelic cover picks:

4. My Great/Rare cover picks:

You missed a spot

Hahahaha, well, I actually know over 2000 versions & covers of the Hey Joe song. Including those of the most famous and legendary rock bands such as Deep Purple.
For instance, the versions of The Who, Ten Years After, The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, The Byrds, Carson, Spirit, Bad Company and many others during the 70s that usually played the slower version similar to that which Jimi Hendrix did so well and famous.

In addition to all those other famous and not so famous bands and singers that also played Hey Joe during the 60s and that used to play more the faster version of the original song played by its supposedly 'original' author Billy Roberts. Check this good version by an unknown japanese band which I find pretty good.

So, I guess I really didn't forget to include any of these versions as you suggest. Only, maybe, it must be that as I already knew them and had listened to them from long time ago, they no longer impressed me much these days and I decided to ignore them and went with the less known great selections in my post. ;)

But hey! does it mean that then is this version of Deep Purple with which you've decided to participate in the contest? And that you were not inclined to choose any of the ones already selected in this post and you've decided to bring a different and very good version with which potentially you could win the 10 hives? ¿Huh?

Ho' yeah , no ,.. thought i just add some purple , as a comment .
some very good and amazing ones in your post i agree , .. kind of all forgot about some contest true them all ,... Drahdiwaberl-Sitzpinkler i had to listen twice ,... Black Uhuru ,.. the multiple ways Jimmy brought it .
