The song starts off with a catchy beat and as soon as the bass and the synthesiser sounds kick in this track gets funky! While it becomes clear that this is basically EDM, I can already hear some other genres in there that Mellow Marsh must be influenced by and that is definitely great to hear!
The singer starts at about 17 seconds and I did not expect such a lovely female voice! I can’t find any information on who is singing this, but her voice sure is amazing. The vocals are strong and confident, yet the message of this track is warm and positive. This is exactly what the world needs in tough times like these!
The first verse highlights the message of the song and I love the line ‘When I’m ‘round you, I’m never blue, Integrity, you hold on to’. The verse is followed by a little hook that features a cool vocal effect. This is then followed by a nice little pre-chorus section with some instrumental action that showcases Mellow Marsh’s skills.
The chorus carries the same positive message that was sung in the intro and like I said it’s a very positive message that is nice to hear.
The second verse gets really deep with some serious story telling about how hard life can be and I love the line ‘Remembering our challenges, we struggled just, to pay the rent’.
There are also many cool instrumental sections with plenty of effects that showcase the talent and skill of Mellow Marsh. My personal favourite is probably the instrumental section at about 3:20 minutes into the song. The bass line combined with all the synthesiser effects sounds awesome. There is so much going on, it’s almost like a classical composition.
The song ends with the lines
‘It takes a certain kind a fella
Who can make this world better
And I promise if you let me
I’ll make you so proud of me'
These lines emphasise the positivity of this song and the important messages it carries. But not only are the lyrics great, the mixing and mastering are both fantastic and I can tell Mellow Marsh is a master when it comes to music production!
