Popoli Pop Cultural Festival - A world in a village in Emilio Romagna

in #music3 years ago

Popoli Pop Cult Festival was born in 2009 from a phone call with a very good university friend of Massimo Bellotti from Congo. They talked about racial tensions and problems in Italy. Because people are easily scared about differences and the unknown, Massimo felt the urge to do something, and started with a global idea, locally in his small village. Personally deeply inspired from the different cultures, he has encountered through is travels and work, for him it is only a question of opening the minds of the people to fight against primitive fears.
Et voilà – the idea of the festival was born. He thought to himself – let’s organise what people enjoy and appreciate the most: food, music, dance and arts. Thanks to the Town Hall’s full participation they invited communities from all over the world to come and show the traditional and best sides of their cultures.
Today they can say it was the right idea, people now know what it means to be Peruvian or Mongolian, they understand their similar values of life and today everybody awaits this special event! Local people are proud to host so many people comming from all over the world.
Every year in June together they create a “World in a Village”: Bagnara di Romagna.

Sounds like a fun festival. We really ought to experience more variety of culture.

Actually would he a really cool idea to organize such an event in every region. Exposing people to other cultures helps open minds and hearts
