Oman's Celebrates 50th National Day

in #nationalday3 years ago

This is one day that every person of this Country celebrates with great enthusiasm. Yesterday 18th November was Oman's 50th National Day. A big milestone in the history of Oman. Sadly our former Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said who reigned for 49 years passed away in the beginning of this year, it was the saddest moment for the Country, and now we have a new Sultan His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

Before Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said came into power, this country was nothing but a Desert land. In just 49 years under his vision the country has had a commendable rapid development. The late Sultan was visionary and had exceptional leadership abilities which brought the country to the stage where it is today. You talk about any field be it Education, Health care, Tourism, Economic affairs, Sports or whatever you can think of Oman has made a remarkable progress.

I always say that Oman is a very beautiful country and I have shared so many pictures of it in my various blogs. If you see the infrastructure of the Country, you will fall in love with it at the first sight. The city is meticulously planned, which I truly feel is applaudable. Under the vision of the late Sultan this country has flourished in every aspect. Anyone who visits here has a very pleasant feeling. I overall like the vibe of this place. It is very gentle and humble. The local people here stand up to the mark of the dignity their late Sultan built up. Expats who have lived here for years do not want to go back to their home as they feel this country is more safe and also provides a very warm home to them.

Now we have a new Sultan His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, and I believe that his most challenging job will be to maintain the highest standard which have been laid by the late Sultan.

Oman's National Day is celebrated with great pompousness. All over, the streets are lit up and everything around is glittering. This year we will not have any food festivals happening sadly, but yes we did have a fire works show which was a sparkle of the Day's celebration. This year a lot of celebrations have been cut off. Our annual Muscat festival also will not be happening. But yes this does not bring down the spirit of the people and the city here. The whole of the city is glittering with lights and people are moving out with safety. They had advised the public to be in the car and see the lightings and fireworks show.

The whole city and the buildings are lit up with light decor all over the roads. It all looks bright and shining. Here are some pictures from last night drive through the city and we went to see the fireworks show.

Look at this traffic, everyone is heading towards the fireworks show venue. The roads were packed. We had left early so we managed to reached the venue before time, but our other friends who were late could not make it.

People were just parking anywhere closer to the venue for the show.

@nainaztengra, In my opinion new Leadership means new ways of seeing things. With new change comes new results and results can be in terms of either ways. Let's hope for the best.

Good wishes from my side and stay blessed.

Yes, we have to wait and watch what the new Leadership brings in, and I am hopefully it will be positive, because he is a person with a vision

Hope for the best.

@nainaztengra Happy Belated Oman National Day. From your pictured it's evident that you had an amazing time.

I have read a lot about His Highness The Late Sultan Qaboos and how he was instrumental in shaping Oman to what it is today.

Truly Sultan Qaboos was Leader from whom others could take inspirations from.

He was a great leader and was visionary. Every person in the Country has very high regards for him.
