Hello, dear and kind Steemians, the power failures and the lack of internet, I have had absent from this beautiful community, but that is until today, because I bring you information about a plant traditionally used (and retaken in these times) by grandmothers to treat different conditions: the purple cariaquito.

Before starting to tell you about the benefits of the cariaquito, I would like to tell you that in Venezuela, there is the phrase: "boy (a), bathe with cariaquito morao" to refer to people who have bad luck at some point in their life. However, a few days ago, I heard a grandmother tell her son to drink purple water to treat the flu. Then: I continued to investigate and I came across the following information:

The purple cariaquito is a type of bush, whose leaves are lanceolate. They have a rough texture and their green color is intense. Its fruits are purple. It can reach 2 meters. It is native to Central and South America. Its scientific name is Lantana trifolia.

This in addition to being considered as a counter for bad luck, can be used to treat menstrual discomfort, reaching not only to calm the discomfort of menstruation, but to improve its regularity and control menstrual flow. Likewise, it can be used to treat stomachs, promoting the expulsion of gases. On the other hand, it can be used to treat diseases related to flu and liver processes.

Warning: its leaves can be used to make infusions, but not its fruits, because these are poisonous, so it is recommended to discard the fruits. Do not consume its fruits.
