Achievement!

My roses have never looked better. They are growing and still preparing to bloom!

These are the roses that are preparing to bloom after a long time of growing it's leaves. It got cut and I transplanted it. Once it recovered it has grown bigger and has bloomed quite a few times, around four flowers and now incoming six.

These are the flowers I have been pressing!

Sprouting from stems

Presenting the rose stem cuttings I planted and covered (to keep moisture)
They sprouted (but not all) some aren't going to grow although I wish they would. I must expose these to sunlight more.

Here's a little recap:

  1. Cut rose stems diagonally at the end
(They are best fresh and green)

  2. Plant them in your pot of soil

  3. Water them

  4. Cover with a clear plastic bottle or bag
(Don't let any air in, this locks moisture)

  5. Keep under the shade, partial sunlight

  6. Keep soil moist

  7. In about 12-15 days sprouts or roots should appear
(Results may be earlier or later)

God bless your gardening journey! 🌹🌹🌹

Growth after the cutting

Pruning roses is basically cutting off anything dead or not productive.
This signals the rose of a wound cut on its stem and therefore making it grow.

No joke there are 80+ baby red sprouts! On every stem there are about 5 sprouts growing in empty spots. I'm so happy to see it grow more. Hopefully! The more stems it has the more roses it can produce.

Roses are full of surprises, from afar or even when you look closely you almost never notice the buds growing (camouflage) and one day you're surprised to see how much they're growing and will bloom for you.

Roses 🌹 bloom and die but our society has produced it and given it a value and esteem that never fades. They're sold and bought, they're prized and show love and care.

It's a simpler symbol of value, one that is living unlike silver or gold (which is a bit more materialistic and greedy when uncontrolled — hey it's the truth).

Growing your own roses is beautiful!

Just sharing my rose babies new leaves!

little experiment

Little observation

Normally you'll be advised to cut leaves from your rose stems before replanting, with a few stems I didn't cut leaves and realized how some of them kept growing and it sustains the plant and it's also a sign that if the leaves don't wilt my plants are alive. This rose stalk with big leaves are from the roses I got from church. Deo Gratias! I immediately replanted and so far no growth but no death and they're still green.

Thankfully the weather is cooler and often raining so it helps roses stay hydrated and not like a sauna.

more updates to come!

Thank you for reading! I hope you spend time bonding with your garden.
