Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
I´m happy to show you another beautiful natural spot in Prague as my today´s Liketu post will take you to the picturesque valley of Ticha Sarka. The location of this lovely place is a bit complicated though. When checking out the actual maps after the hike, I found out that it really is situated in the valley of Ticha Sarka, which is a nature reserve in the western part of the city. However, you can also find articles that refer to the location of this place as Divoka Sarka, Jeneralka, Vizerka or Vokovice. I know it can be confusing so I decided to pin this spot on Pinmapple to make it clear for potential visitors where it actually is ;)
In fact, the neighboring nature reserve Divoka Sarka is bigger and more famous as it´s home to the popular Dzban Water Reservoir, many impressive rock formations, cliffs and lush green forests covered with a number of great hiking trails but once there, I definitely recommend that you check out the nearby Ticha Sarka as well. This place is just as beautiful and naturally diverse as Divoka Sarka but with fewer people. There is also this amazing little wooden footpath over there, leading through (technically above) a unique ecosystem of swamps, natural pools and flooded meadows that are home to many special water fauna and flora species. While following the meandering footpath, you can also admire the surrounding rocks, cliffs, forests and even caves.
The Ticha Sarka Valley is truly one of the hidden natural gems of Prague and it´s my pleasure to share some of the pictures that I took there with you now ;)
I hope you liked the shots. Not all of them are as good as I would wish though as the strong contrast between the parts lit by the scorching summer sun and those hidden in shade was a bit too much to handle for my old phone. But it was a really nice and fun hike and if you enjoyed this post, feel free to stay tuned for more as I explore places like this almost every weekend, they are surprisingly plentiful here in Prague ;)

Wow, this is a lovly area to hike...they put those woods for the pathway, how long is this?
Actually, the pathway itself is just a few hundred meters long, it was built over the flooded area. But you can hike for long kilometers around other parts of the valley. We hiked some 20 km that day, the pathway was just one of the highlights :)
