I bought my first NFT Digital Art on NFT Showroom - but couldn't even login to 3Speak

in #nftshowroom3 years ago

Well I must say that HiveFest was a bit of a buggy bust for me - except for one thing.

I caught part of @crimsonclad's presentation on NFT Showroom (@nftshowroom) and decided to check it out after the next speaker never appeared for me - apparently I was teleported to another main stage with no speaker because the first one was full.

I was very impressed!

Firstly, the ability to just login with one click using Hive Keychain and investigate something new without going through the whole registration signup new password stuff is so refreshing. Its one of the great benefits of Hive.

@threespeak has made a huge mistake requiring traditional usernames and passwords to log in. After my buggy experience with Altspace VR I tried to watch HiveFest on 3Speak. I couldn't even login. It kept saying my username was already registered but I have no record of which of my many email addresses I used.
There was no way to login using Hive Keychain or even Hive keys -very disappointing and a step backwards.

Secondly there was lots of cool art for cheap prices. So I bought a couple of pieces.

I bought this because it was cheap and cute. I love chess and fights are part of a good marriage.

Interestingly this had been tokenised 2 months ago with no buyers, but within 12 hours of me buying another 2 (of 4 total) had sold.
I suppose I started a NFT art trend - fancy that!

The second piece was a bit more expensive and has a message that resonates with the principles of JPB Liberty Pty Ltd and so I bought it via my @jpbliberty account, which had some spare swap.hive lying around.

JPB Liberty's first piece of corporate artwork .....

Ross Ulbricht Sketch smaller low quality.jpg

I'm hoping Trump commutes Ross Ulbricht's sentence.
Life in prison for setting up an online marketplace is harsh and unusual punishment.

Note that I've uploaded lower quality images than the hi res versions I received when I purchased.

NFT Showroom has added a new aspect to Hive for me, on top of blogging and gaming, I'm now exposed to interesting art pushing a technology frontier.

Please vote for my Hive witness. (KeyChain or HiveSigner)

thanks for the shoutout! I'm always open to hearing more of what you're discovering around NFTSR and how we can make the experience better for the collector, the artist, and the outside observer and appreciator alike! <3

I think that a clearer, official way to download the NFT art one has purchased would be good.
I know you can just download the image but it feels unofficial.
Once you own the art you want an official button to download it.

Also, it would be good if there was an automatic way to download lower resolution versions.

Another thing is if there was a way to automatically append the artist's and owner's Hive handle to the art in some non-obtrusive way.

Also the site could automatically create some certificate of ownership of rights to the art with the NFT transaction number and artists and Owner's name.

Things that give the feeling of ownership to the owner will encourage purchase.

@starkerz @wehmoen @theycalldan - when will you add Hivesigner/keychain?

Adding Hivesigner/Keychain is not planned or even possible. In the past we offered this option and users constantly had issues with it. We are very happy with our current login/signup process. Users can use email/password as they usually do on any other website. Furthermore neither Hivesigner nor Keychain are compatible with our platform. We solely rely on the user ids provided by our user pool to associate content with creators. These ids are derived from time of signup, the creators email and a random string value. It is therefore not possible to integrate Hivesigner or Keychain as a login provider as the same HIVE account can be connected to several 3Speak accounts. (Example: The entire 3Speak team has their personal account and the @threespeak account available to them) Ever since we removed Hivesigner and Keychain and replaced it with our current login/signup process the number of tickets by people that couldn't sign in / sign up have gone back by almost 95%. A few days ago I finished my work on the password reset feature which was one of the last few things I wanted to add for a while now. While Hivesigner / Keychain might work for tech savvy people like you we want to offer our products to everyone at ease without requiring them to learn about the 5 different keys (including the password / seed ) or installing a browser extension.

Once you are logged in with your 3Speak E-Mail account you can connect any number of your existing HIVE accounts using your posting/active key and Hivesigner btw. I chose to add Hivesigner in this place as people that have multiple HIVE accounts are more likely to be familiar with the ecosystem.

Maybe this is an important thing to know for @apshamilton

Thanks for the explanation.
It sounds like the two systems are fundamentally incompatible.

However I couldn't even recover my password without trying 10 different emails and going through "identify the bicycle" BS. So I can't use 3Speak unfortunately.

Great you liked my CryptoPortrait of Ross, also hoping for him to be pardoned this year! <3 <3

Congratulations @apshamilton! You received a personal badge!
