Hello to all the art lovers on the internet ^ _ ^ here surviving a wave of blackouts that my city lived for days, for now everything is normal, and I hope it continues.

The guide I share today is very important in terms of drawing, The how to apply the lights and shadows in our work, (I am still struggling for my little apprentices to understand this, and for now only 2 or 3 of the 10 they are understanding them, the others are more aware of playing in the T_T class, typical nature of 8-year-old children.) These two elements are what define every illustration, no matter what technique is applied, be it painting, charcoal, acrylic, oil. , traditional drawing or simply sketches light and shadow the combination of these two components define the volumes of all bodies. So regardless of what they like to draw you should know very well and carefully handle this issue, poorly executed lighting could be fatal to your drawing. ^ _ ^

The light in the drawing

Thanks to the light we can perceive the world, it illuminates our surroundings allowing us to see an infinite number of colors, textures, sizes and shapes.

This illuminates the bodies generating shadows by preventing the passage of it, defining its shape and volume.

The Shadows in the drawing

The shadow is the absence of light; When an object or a part of it is darker, we know that it is farther from the light source, the differences in intensity in the dark give us the idea of the volume of each object. The use of light and shadow give another value to the drawing itself, a drawing made only with lines can have depth in itself but by giving them the play of light and shadow we bring this drawing closer to reality by granting the volume and three-dimensionality .
