Heading over Strines Moor, you are blessed with woodland, moorland and farmland, as well as a few of the many reservoirs that are dotted all around the peak district.
I love this picture, it's a simple shot, far from my best, but you get to see some of the beauty of the landscape, the roads are windy and narrow in places, but that's part of the adventure.
I had seen this tower from the other road over strines moor, but I took a different road this time, but I can't remember where it lead.
The tower you can see is called "Boot's Folly" also knows as "Sugworth Tower", it was built around 1927 by Charles Boot, the 45-foot-high square tower with castellated top was built from the leftover stone from nearby Bents House. I've not yet managed to get down to it, but I have an idea for a shot, but it's finding somewhere to park on the very narrow roads that run around the back of the folly.
