Saludos querida comunidad, hace 50 años mi abuelo emigro de Europa, específicamente de Portugal, huyendo de la crisis de su país y la dictadura, en busca de un mejor futuro llego a Venezuela. Dejo a sus padres y hermanos, no supo más de ellos, se dedicó a trabajar y formar su familia en un nuevo país, lamentablemente se fue de este mundo sin volver a ver a sus padres y hermanos, pero dejo sus raíces aquí en Venezuela.

Greetings dear community, 50 years ago my grandfather emigrated from Europe, specifically from Portugal, fleeing the crisis in his country and the dictatorship, in search of a better future, he arrived in Venezuela. He left his parents and siblings, he did not know more about them, he dedicated himself to working and raising his family in a new country, unfortunately he left this world without seeing his parents and siblings again, but he left his roots here in Venezuela.

Siempre no preguntábamos de la familia del abuelo, donde estarán como serán, ese lado de la familia no la conocíamos, hasta que mi hermano mayor se dio la tarea de buscar esa familia, sabíamos que el nació en el faro y que emigro con dos compañeros para Venezuela, por suerte del destino nos encontramos con un nieto de la persona que emigro con el abuelo y nos cuenta que ellos si lograron conocer a sus familiares y conocieron los hermanos de mi abuelo. Inmediatamente le pedimos la dirección y sus contactos.

We did not always ask about the grandfather's family, where they will be as they will be, that side of the family we did not know, until my older brother gave himself the task of looking for that family, we knew that he was born in the lighthouse and that he emigrated with two companions For Venezuela, luckily of fate we found a grandson of the person who emigrated with his grandfather and he tells us that they did get to know their relatives and they met my grandfather's brothers. We immediately ask for his address and his contacts.

Fue así que pudimos tener comunicación con esos primos y gracias al internet comenzó ese contacto con ellos. Para la época planificamos un viaje mis dos hermanos con nuestras esposas para conocer la familia. Se preparó una parrillada de bienvenida en la casa del primo donde además el producía vinos y fuimos a las barricas a sacar un poco de vinos para el reencuentro. Pudimos conocer una sobrina directa del abuelo y su segunda generación.

That is how we were able to have communication with those cousins and thanks to the internet that contact with them began. At the time, my two brothers planned a trip with our wives to meet the family. A welcome barbecue was prepared at the cousin's house where he also produced wines and we went to the barrels to get some wines for the reunion. We were able to meet a direct niece of the grandfather and his second generation.

A partir de ese encuentro se lograron recuperar partida de nacimiento del abuelo y con un gran trabajo se logró la nacionalidad de mi papa y con ella la nuestra, hoy en día mis hijos viven en Portugal y están formando su familia.

From that meeting they were able to recover the birth certificate of the grandfather and with a great job the nationality of my father was achieved and with it ours, today my children live in Portugal and are forming their family.
