So here is my effort at turning a beat up old horse shoe into a funk bit of wallart.
This is what i started with, the overall condition was ok but still had straw in the grooves.
First process was to clean of the straw and crap using a power washer and then drying out them completely.
I removed the surface rust with a wire brush and gave any high points a file and sand.
I gave a coat of grey primer spray paint and let cure for an hour.
I next put on a coat of gloss white while the primer was still tacky in a process called wet on wet.
I waited 48 hours for the paint to cure so the tape i am gonna apply doesnt pull off the white.
I have put on the masking tape and now i used some scotch brite to key the exposed surface for painting.
I somehow deleted the picture of me spraying in red but i used a spray can of volvo red and removed the masking tape after 3 hours so this was not fully cured as this runs the risk of chipping the paint, i did end up with a little bit of chipping but overall i am happy with the outcome.
