NEWS: Great Achievement | Book Announcement | Pre-Order

in #ocd3 years ago

Boom shaka laka! Coming by to announce a great achievement.

Four months have passed since my adventuring leg went off-line. However, another orgasmatic event is worth sharing (other than saying I'm capable of cycling again, Yeey!)

Lurking inside my loose brain, the idea of writing a book represents the beginning of this blog, in 2017.

Friends have come and gone, our community has changed address, and I continued collecting travel stories. During these years of on-chain tales, several people/projects contributed with encouragement, votes, and comments.

Thanks to you, memories of Stuck in Patagonia with Sushi and Thunders from Glacier Perito Moreno—my first stories to reach 100+ USD in votes—are now 100% rewritten and revived in a book.

In Tales of a Patagonian Journey, Arthur embarks on a hitchhiking mission to reach Americas' southernmost edge, the faraway island of Tiera del Fuego, in Patagonia. He roams the most iconic landmarks in Argentina and Chile for sixty-two days, going through the lands of Selk’nam, Mapuches, and Tehuelches, where he meets unique characters who bring to light myths and legends of natives and explorers. The expedition is of laughable misery, sushi in the desert, naked women invasion, aliens, platonic loves, and search for freedom. Arthur runs out of money. Several times. Fortunately, he discovers the world is made of warm-hearted people, and that happiness can be as simple as rags in a backpack, a tent, and wilderness.

Tales of a Patagonian Journey is in pre-order on Amazon KDP. Only Kindle version; paperback coming in mid-August. Unfortunately, coupons for Hive friends aren't allowed until launch. But, come on! 50% off, at $3,55. A bargain! And guarantees a sexy hot coffee for the author.

All the profits from this post aim to fund the ISBN costs (Yes, I'm broke, again).

Thanks for being part of this project. God bless you all. Stay Tuned!

Hoooooah! Gibbe coffeeeeeeee. Let the print version come out and I'll send you one. And if the book turns out into good 'moneys' we'll find a way to meet somewhere.

Is it allowed on Hive to promote the sale of one's own book with a direct link to Amazon? Doesn't it contradict any publishing rules? Isn't it cause for banning?

This is the first time I see it.

Greetings.

You mean publishing rules on Amazon? I don't see any problems on Hive--we even have communities for book reviews.

I publish in these communities. The question was simply because so far I have not seen any sponsored content. In no way was it an accusation.

You were a referent of the @TravelFeed community: is that community still active?

Regards.

Gotcha! I never took it as an accusation, no worries. Our blogs are, well... ours, for I believe we can sponsor content as long as they are legit ^~

It's been a while that I don't engage on Travelfeed. TF has a new app by the way, that works independently, but also allows to cross-post on Hive -- it's well worth trying the app; the team worked really hard to get to where they are. TF is still curating content.

OK thank you for the information. Regards.

congrats man. will have to check it out when i get back from short vacation.

Yooo Bil, thanks for coming by man. Enjoy your vacations and don't forget to appreciate some nice beer for us.

beer was appreciated today 😁

That's wicked awesome, @mrprofessor - congrats! I just followed your Amazon page & best of luck with the launch!

Heeeeey @traciyork, thanks for the support! It's a relief to see that peoject become reality. If it weren't for the blockchain, I don't know if I'd ever write those stories.
