Vegetable Steam and Fried Dumplings

Today I prepare a simple dish yet flavorful and healthy. I chose to use only vegetable just to try myself if it will taste good even without adding meat.


I only used just basic and few ingredients so I guess anyone can cook this at home. I prefer to fry it this time so I can test if the dough that I made can be crispy. The ingredients that I use for the dough (wrapper): Flour, salt and water. For the vegetable filling: Cabbage, salt, pork seasoning and chicharon.

Here's how I did:

1.I cut the cabbage and slice it thinly and drops and mix in with salt. I let it rest for few minutes then squeeze the the cabbage to drain it's water content.

2.I combine the cabbage with salt, pork seasoning and the crushed chicharon.

3.For the wrapper, I combine the flour, salt and water till I form a dough. I let it rest for few minutes so I can knead it and proceed for the next step.

4.After kneading, I cut the dough into 3 long log and cut it into smaller parts.

5.I am using a dumpling molder this time, I roll the dough then place the dough into the molder.

6.I scoop the vegetable filling in the center and gently press it together. I cut the excess dough using a plastic knife.

7.I put small amount of cooking oil into my frying pan. When I heard that the oil starting to sizzle, I add few drops of water and cover it.

8.I allow it to cook for 2 minutes and flip it over to fry the other side. This recipe can make up 20-25 pcs of dumplings just a small size.

9.Serve it while still hot and best to match with your desire deepings. Enjoy!
