A day in the woods

Hello to all dear friends and welcome back to my blog.

Today I share with you one of my watercolor paintings where I represent a day in nature.

That guy on the bicycle is me with my dog who has a lot of fun following me.

I decided to represent a wellness scene, enriched by the green foliage of the trees and the bright day.

With the watercolor technique it is very difficult to paint the greens of the foliage of the trees, because you risk creating unreal or characterless subjects.

So I always recommend putting ocher yellow or brown van Dick in the greens, and cobalt blue for the shadows, the red is also not bad.

In this detail you can see the different shades of green of the leaves.

[ITA] - In questo dettaglio potete vedere le diverse tonalità dei verdi delle foglie.

Larger brushes can also be used to paint foliage.

[ITA] - Si possono usare anche pennelli più grandi per dipingere il fogliame.

And thin brushes to give shapes and shadows to the ground.

[ITA] - E pennelli sottili per dare forme e ombre al terreno.

Another advice I can give you is to leave the parts of the painting you want to make bright white, without color.

Una giornata nel bosco

Ciao a tutti cari amici e ben tornati sul mio blog.

Oggi condivido con voi un mio dipinto ad acquarello dove rappresento una giornata nella natura.

Quel tizio in bicicletta sono io con il mio cane che si diverte tantissimo a seguirmi.

Ho deciso di rappresentare una scena di benessere, arricchito dalle chiome verdi degli alberi e dalla giornata luminosa.

Con la tecnica dell'acquarello è molto difficile dipingere i verdi delle chiome degli alberi, perchè rischi di realizzare dei soggetti irreali o senza carattere.

Per cui consiglio sempre di mettere nei verdi il giallo ocra o il bruno van Dick, e il blu cobalto per le omre, anche il rosso non è male.

Altro consiglio che posso darvi è di lasciare bianco, senza colore, le parti del dipinto che volete rendere luminose.
