En mi país hemos llegado en el día de hoy a 100.000 muertos debido al Covid-19 o mejor dicho las complicaciones derivadas de este coronavirus del que se sabe con exactitud muy poco y se especula mucho.
Nunca hubiera querido referirme a esto, no me resulta placentero hablar de la muerte y menos aun cuando una gran parte de esas personas fallecidas probablemente habrían vivido más tiempo.
El número asusta y mucho, tanto por la cantidad de fallecimientos como por la incertidumbre sobre hasta donde llegará la cuenta. Estamos transitando la segunda ola en pleno invierno y con solo el 11% de personas vacunadas con el esquema completo y la variante delta que es muchísimo más contagiosa que otras cepas anteriores está tocando la puerta de entrada al país.
No quiero hablar demasiado sobre esto porque no soy médico ni nada que se le parezca, solo un simple ciudadano que ha visto a los políticos de turno manejarse con una enorme liviandad a la hora de planificar tanto la importación de vacunas como la administración de los centros de atención y la aparatología necesaria para transitar la pandemia de la mejor manera. Hubo de todo: imprevisibilidad, promesas incumplidas, interrogantes sin resolver sobre la falta de vacunas de varios laboratorios de prestigio, hubo, y cuesta admitirlo, una subestimación de los principales encargados del manejo sanitario de lo que la pandemia significaba. Tuvimos uso político de las vacunas y privilegios a la hora de aplicar las dosis a personas que no estaban entre los grupos de riesgo.
Todo este combo ha dado esta cifra enorme que nos posiciona entre los países con más muertos por millón de habitantes y la pandemia todavía no termina.
Esperemos que Dios se apiade de nosotros, los habitantes comunes, porque de otra manera estaremos en mayores problemas de los que ya tenemos, mientras tanto los gobernantes, esos que elegimos para que nos representen y cuiden están enfrascados en la campaña electoral de medio término. Pensando solo en ellos como de costumbre.

I would never have wanted to refer to this, I do not find it pleasant to talk about death and even less when a large part of those deceased people probably would have lived longer.
The number is very scary, both due to the number of deaths and the uncertainty about how far the account will go. We are going through the second wave in the middle of winter and only 11% of people are vaccinated with the complete scheme. And the delta variant that is vastly more contagious than previous strains is knocking on the gateway to the country.
I do not want to talk too much about this because I am not a doctor or anything like that, just a simple citizen who has seen the politicians on duty handle themselves with enormous lightness when planning both the importation of vaccines and the care centers and the necessary equipment to navigate the pandemic in the best way possible. There was everything: unpredictability, unfulfilled promises, unresolved questions about the lack of vaccines from several prestigious laboratories, there was, and it is difficult to admit, an underestimation of the main people in charge of health management. We had political use of vaccines and privileges when dosing people who were not among the risk groups.
All this combo has given this enormous figure that places us among the countries with the most deaths per million inhabitants and the pandemic is not over yet.
Let's hope that God has mercy on us, the common inhabitants because otherwise, we will be in greater problems than we already have, meanwhile the rulers, those we elect to represent and take care of us, are involved in the mid-term electoral campaign. Thinking only of them as usual.
