Pennsif's Sustainability Curation Digest for MSP - week ending 31 May 2020

in #palnet4 years ago

It's hot, hot, hot today.

We've got all the hots we need. Now we need some cool rain.

Gardeners are never content with the weather.

And British gardeners even less so.

At least the weather gives us something to talk about while we read five more great sustainability related posts on Hive...

The Minnow Support Project has multiple curators that pick five posts from under-valued minnows each week to highlight through MSP3k. This way MSP and PAL can promote new writers and content creators on Hive, and in effect reward them for doing a superior job.

Some rain now and then would be nice. Luckily our water butts are well filled. Getting lots of strawberries and the rhubarb is doing well. Bean, courgettes, spinach and other things are in the ground. Got other stuff to be planted out. Hoping for a good crop.

Same here with me. Its a raining season period that is why I wanna use this period to plant maize, cassava, vegetable and jute mallow. I can't wait for the harvest period.

Hope those do well. We have tried maize in our garden, but never get much from it. Maybe it needs a lot more water.

Yeah, sure to plant maize you really need a lot of water. Reason why I plant it at this period is that it use to rain almost everyday here so it does help the maize to grow well.

I am watering the other plants, but we may run out of rainwater before it rains again. Our mains water is metered, so I try not to use that more than necessary.

Oooh!that's better. I really appreciate your conversation with me. So dearing🙏

Smile. Hahahaha. It's a must now. Showers of rain we need more. Thanks for mentioning me. We ( gardeners never lack good content ) that is again.

Thanks for the mention! I made 3 more quarts of sauce the next day. Now you've reminded me, maybe I'll make more this afternoon....
