The Lord is always giving us everything we need. Today’s verse looks at how He has given us everything that we need to find peace. However, we have two problems with this.
The first problem is that we don’t practice what He has given us. A lot of it daily problems can be considered as distractions from what he has taught us. The material seems so important. In the last 30 years this has amplified with the creation of the internet and social media.
The second problem is our definition of peace. Peace is not part of the material world. It is not a physical location. Instead it is a mindset. When Paul write this verse he was in prison. Not a very peaceful place, but he was at peace.
This is the secret. You can have problems and have peace at the same time. It is not the way we convince it as one of the other. When we have this mindset, we are able to have our peace and function in society.
