Perceiving fridges for too many dead people

in #perception4 years ago (edited)

Looky looky here, a politician trying to instill fear into the hearts and minds of the masses. "COVID-1984 is so out of control, we need more freezers to store all the dead bodies that are piling up!"

Oh woops, that was a lie. That's what happened in Phoenix as Mayor Kate Gallego who gave an interview to MSNBC and the reversal of the opening and back to closing up businesses like bars.

"Maricopa County, which is our county public health agency, just announced that they're going to be getting refrigerated trucks because the Abrazo health care system has run out of morgue beds," Gallego said.

Straight, saying they are getting refrigerated trucks. Why? Because they have, already, has past-tense, run out of morgue fridge space. That took the Abrazo hospital by surprise, since they are the ones who ordered the fridges, weeks ago. There is no lack of space in the morgue though. These are just preventative measures "in case" they do run out.

Spokesman Keith Jones told azcentral.com that Abrazo hospitals have "adequate morgue space."

"At this point, it is not needed," Jones said.

These were just emergency plans, to be prepared for worst outcomes. Not that it is happening, or even would. But ya never know.

Why would the mayor have made these false statements contrary to the facts? Politics. It appears this is part of a larger Democrat ploy to regain the senate seat left by John McCain and still occupied by a current Republican Senator Martha McSally. Dirty politics at work...
