The barrel of toxic waste in the forest inspired the Light Painting.
Humans reach into the last corners of nature. You can wander through the forest far from the last street and you'll find a barrel. It has almost rotten away, yet one ask themself what was in it? The trees are growing so apparently its been a long time ago or not as poisonous. When setting up the image I did not want to make the barrel the main prominent feature but a side-subject.
The above single exposure Light Painting was created considering the following.
Canon 5D Mark IV Camera Settings: | |
---|---|
109 seconds | |
F16 on the LAOWA F2.8 12mm ZeroD | |

To create the Toxic Spill Blip was created with a circular round light blade I got from LightPaintingParadise
Before I started the actual Light Painting of course I did test the conditions by a 73 seconds shot lighting the trees in the 73-second single exposure that you see below. After that, I was confident that I would have enough time to run around and light up the forest.

Thank you so much. Glad you like it. 🙏
It feels like an alien egg about to hatch. I love it. The side lighting helps frame it nicely! Great work.
