I'm back in Ohio now after a fun week exploring the mountains of Colorado. One evening I went fishing and after striking out for a while I spent over an hour just sitting and watching this beaver swim around with their mate. They were clearly aware that I was there and kept swimming back and forth in front of me as if keeping an eye on me. A couple times I apparently moved too much and they slapped their tails and disappeared for a while. Once I held still they would re-appear and continue their vigil. Definitely the closest experience I've had with beavers and I had a lot of fun watching them!
