OK, not getting better, it seems. Still procrastinating. But I'm sure, totally positive, absolutely certain, that this week, this week, I really get going again & resume the normal programme. Perhaps. Maybe. At least I'll try. I think.	Scheint nicht besser zu werden. Immer noch zu faul. Aber ich bin sicher, absolut gewiss, total überzeugt, daß ich diese Woche ganz bestimmt wieder ans Werk gehe & zum normalen Rhythmus zurückkehre. Vielleicht. Möglicherweise. Glaube ich.

Well, for now let's do another SMS View. The pictures today are from mid July. Another nice day which I mostly spent sleeping at home until I went cycling late in the afternoon. Before I turned towards the coast for the sunset I rode southwards to the edge of Patras. Where I found this lonely door:	Nunja, jetzt erstmal ein weiterer MBM-Blick. Die heutigen Bilder stammen von Mitte Juli. Ein weiterer schöner Tag, den ich zuhause im Bett verbrachte, bevor ich am späten Nachmittag endlich rausging. Bevor ich mich für den Sonnenuntergang der Küste zuwandte, fuhr ich nach Süden zur Stadtgrenze. Wo ich diese einsame Tür fand:

Not that lonely, of course. It was part of the left-overs of an adobe house. I have no idea why people here would build adobe houses. Although the summers are very dry, in winter there is a lot of rain which is not the best environment for adobe. & you can literally just grab stones from the ground here to build something. But for some reason in this case they only used stones for the wall foundations.

Nicht so einsam natürlich. War ein Teil der Ruinen eines Lehmziegelhauses. Keine Ahnung, warum man hier Lehmhäuser bauen würde. Die Sommer hier sind zwar sehr trocken, aber im Winter regnet es doch recht häufig. Außerdem liegen hier genug Steine einfach so herum, aus denen man schon etwas Nettes bauen kann. In diesem Fall wurden die Steine aber nur für Mauerfundamente genutzt.

A bit further south I found a property with a number of abandoned construction machines.	Etwas weiter südlich fand ich ein Grundstück mit einigen vor sich hin rostenden Baumaschinen.

You also see a lot of abandoned cars here in Patras. I don't really understand the reasoning behind this. Why not sell the stuff for scrap instead of letting it rot in some backyard? Or is it so, that nowadays you actually have to pay for scrapping machinery?	Man findet in Patras auch viele Schrottautos. Verstehe nicht wirklich, warum. Kann man doch besser an einen Schrotthändler verkaufen. Oder ist es heutzutage so, daß man für Verschrottung bezahlen muß, anstatt bezahlt zu werden?

There is even a former car dealership which still has some cars in the showroom, among them a nice old 2CV. I can't believe this couldn't be sold as a vintage car. Oh well...	Hier gibt es sogar einen ehemaligen Autohandel, in dem noch einige Autos stehen, darunter ein alter 2CV. Kann eigentlich nicht glauben, daß der nicht als Oldtimer verkauft werden könnte. Naja...

Then I turned towards the coast. As you can see, it was already pretty late when I got there. The sun being almost gone...	Danach fuhr ich zur Küste. Wie man sieht, war es schon ziemlich spät, als ich dort ankam. Die Sonne war schon fast weg...

But it was not too late to take some nice photos. Like this seegrass on the rocks. Tried it with an exposure of 1/8th of a second:	Nicht zu spät für ein paar nette Fotos. Wie dieses Seegras auf den Felsen. Das Ganze mit 1/8 Sek. Verschlußzeit:

Not bad. But as is normal for me, I forgot to turn off the shutter priority mode. So, when I found a nice combination of a melon peel with a crab, I wasted a number of images. & when I noticed my mistake, the crab was gone. The best I got:	Nicht schlecht. Aber wie üblich vergaß ich, die Blendenautomatik wieder auszuschalten. Als ich dann eine Krabbe neben einer Melonenschale sah, verschwendete ich diverse Bilder darauf. & nachdem ich den Fehler korrigiert hatte, war die Krabbe weg.

At least for the sunset it was back to normal:	Wenigstens zum Sonnenuntergang war alles wieder korrekt:

& there was another crab, just on the edge of the tide. Peeking out of the water:	& es gab noch eine Krabbe, am Gezeitenrand. Aus dem Wasser linsend:

Then I found the spot with the pipe from the title photo. But at first I wasn't sure about that pipe, so I just tried to get some nice pics of the sunset. This one is nice because for some reason, 5 sun beams appeared:	Dann kam ich an die Röhre vom Titelbild. War zunächst aber nicht sicher, was ich mit der Röhre anfangen sollte & widmete mich der Sonne. Das nächste Bild zeigt seltsamerweise 5 Sonnenstrahlen:

Not so nice that by then I still had not noticed my sensor-cleaning gone wrong. If you look a bit closer at the above image, you see a lot of spots. Grr... But at least they don't show on all photos. So, the next one zoomed in on the distant coast line is fairly clear:	Nur schade, daß ich zu dem Zeitpunkt immer noch nicht entdeckt hatte, daß ich bei der Sensorreinigung Mist gebaut hatte. Wenn man genau hinsieht, kann man die Schlieren sehen. Zum Glück aber nicht auf jedem Bild. Die Küste in der Ferne kommt ohne Schlieren daher:

After that I tried to do something with that pipe. Not as easy as it sounds. & the results varied greatly, depending on focus & whether I used the flash. Here's one with the focus in the distance:	Dann versuchte ich mich doch an der Röhre. War nicht so leicht. & die Resultate variierten gewaltig, je nach Fokus & Blitzeinsatz. Hier ist der Fokus in der Ferne:

Now it's time for @shasta's #bouldersunday. (OK, a day late, but yesterday I was busy with Formula 1 & football.) This creamy pink cake just looks tasty:	& jetzt mal wieder ein paar Felsen. Diese rosa Buttercremetorte sieht doch lecker aus:

No idea, what kind of rock that is. You see quite a number of pink rocks here, but usually not such a bright pink with so many white inlcusions. More interesting is the next one, though:	Weiß nicht, was für eine Art Fels das ist. Rosa Steine sieht man hier häufiger, aber nicht so leuchtend pink & mit sovielen weißen Inklusionen. Interessanter ist der nächste Felsblock:

Some kind of sandstone with inclusions of shells & worm tubes. Strangely, there is quite a clear separation with one part full of worm tubes & the other full of shells.	Eine Art Sandstein mit eingelagerten Muschelschalen & Wurmröhren. Seltsamerweise gibt es eine deutliche Teilung. Links voll mit Wurmröhren, rechts mit Muschelschalen.

The above shows mostly worm tubes. The below mostly shells.	Oben sieht man hauptsächlich Wurmröhren. Unten meist Muschelschalen.

This rock was probably put there by the authorities to stop coastal erosion, taken from a quarry in the mountains. I found similar rocks a few weeks later when I went quite a bit uphill.	Der Felsblock wurde dort vermutlich plaziert, um vor Erosion zu schützen & kommt wohl aus einem Steinbruch in den Bergen. Ähnliche Exemplare fand ich einige Wochen später, als ich in den Hügeln unterwegs war.

Quite some interesting stuff in that rock which I cannot identify. The above might be some kind of sea shell, but very thick. The one below, I have no idea. Looks like a sea shell, but with so many separate layers?	Ziemlich interessantes Zeug in dem Block, auch wenn ich oft nicht weiß, was es ist. Oben sieht man vielleicht eine Muschelschale, allerdings sehr dick. Unten... keine Ahnung. Könnte eine Muschelschale sein, aber mit so vielen separaten Lagen?
