A WHIRLWIND AND WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY WALK FOR MY BIRTHDAY! PART #2

in #photographylast year (edited)

JOOEY HAVIG A SNIFF.JPG

Hi there everyone, I hope that you are all well and having wonderful #WednesdayWalks all around the world!

I have missed you all you guys so much and once again, I am so grateful to @tattoodjay for creating this fabulous community for us all to share in!

So today I share the second part of my whirlwind walk with you and in a matter of 3 hours I went from this....The centre of Sydney- Australia's largest city...

CITY VIEW.JPG

TO THIS...the centre of the bush- 80acres of isolated native Australian bush that was once cattle farming land but is now being re-established to it's natural form for these gorgeous little creatures

SARAH AND 3 JOEYS.JPG

by Yurpia, my gorgeous friend of 23years, as she rehabilitates orphaned Joeys.
(stay tuned for more on this topic too!)

To meet these babies (and yes they are babies, some just a few months old and SHOULD be still in their mum's pouches...)

JOEY BNW.JPG

And so Yurpia and Beanie took us on a 2.5hr walk around just a small part of this property to check out all of the native species of flora and fauna

As Yurpia and her small furry family live completely off-grid, we had to go into town to get some supplies

and took the opportunity to go to the annual, world famous Jacaranda festival

Oh my, those furry friends are cute! Well done to your friend for taking care of them! It must feel great to see and be that close to little kangaroos 😍
I spotted Jacaranda trees in the penultimate photo. How cool, the whole street is purple.
You forgot to post in the Wednesday walk community? I accidentally spotted your post, but very glad I did :))

I'm so sorry @mipiano I don't know how I missed your comment!

And yes they are so totally adorable, it's hard to describe just how gorgeous they are. SO innocent and to be robbed of their mums- their entire family, so soooo sad.

I have been editing a doco on Yurpia and the joeys, so stay tuned!

And there will be more on the Jacaranda trees too. What an astounding site it was.

Yeah I don't know what I did, but in the end the post didn't go into the WW community so I had to cross post it in there, so I'm so glad that you saw it!

Now I'm paranoid that the new edition-part 3 has gone astray too!

Just incase, here it is here for you https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@chocolatescorpi/a-whirlwind-and-wonderful-wednesday-walk-for-my-birthday-part-3

I have the 4th and last part to to post next week, then I'll be drilling down into each part of the entire adventure because there was just sooo much I saw and did and people I met, places I went to...What a wonderful holiday it was- and SOOOOOO much walking involved too!

I hope that you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing your adventure tomorrow too (don't forget, I'm coming to you from the future...lolsz...🤣..)

Now it's 1am and I'm off to bed.
See you tomorrow!
XXX

The joeys are cute. Those trees/flowers are beautiful. My first time to see jacaranda.

Hey there @fruityfruitz I'm so sorry I didn't mean to be rude and ignore your comment, but I just didn't see it until now!

If you liked the little joeys, just wait until I finish editing the doco that I'm making on them!

And I will post more photos of the Jacaranda festival soon as it was such a glorious sight to behold!

Here's another one here though..
https://peakd.com/hive-154065/@chocolatescorpi/theres-always-beauty-in-our-lives-when-theres-always-a-flower-in-sight

And I have just posted the 3rd edition of my long birthday holiday here too...https://peakd.com/hive-155530/@chocolatescorpi/a-whirlwind-and-wonderful-wednesday-walk-for-my-birthday-part-3

I hope that you enjoy!

I look forward to seeing you on your next adventure tomorrow too!

Once again you have let me wait for the next blog of yours :)
I always wanna see those Kangroos in real, they look so cute and innocent creature but in movies and cartoons, they are more like a boxer character LOL
Well, I have heard a lot about HPU day but didn't went through it yet, thanks for sharing the link, will check that out later when free.
Thanks for sharing a brief overview of the places you went to, keep sharing amazing blogs!!!

Thanks Fawad, I'm so glad that you joined me for my walk again!

As with all animals, they get frightened when approached by humans so the do either one of 2 things- that we ourselves do and that is 'flight or fight' and animals always choose the first choice- flight, unless they have no choice but to defend themselves and fight.

Unfortunately the fighting Kangaroo was real and it was a person in America years ago that made the Kangaroo do it.

If you want to know more about the reality of Kangaroos, check this out....https://www.animaljusticeparty.org/protect_australian_icons

As for the #hivePUDday, check it out because it is vesting in your financial growth here in hive and is worth every minute of it!

So happy that you enjoyed the 2nd leg and I look forward to sharing with you the 3rd leg of my big birthday tour next Wednesday!

Until then, have a wonderful weekend and be kind to all animals- they all deserve our love and compassion.

Very well said, they only fight to defend themselves or when they are scared. Kangroos looks to me very innocent creature. Thanks for sharing the links, will go through it.
Yeah, I am looking forward to your next birthday tour post. Have a nice weekend and take care!!!

Yes they are very innocent and very misunderstood, by too many people.

Glad that you're still enjoying the travel tour too!

See you very soon (I can't believe how fast that has gone!)

Hello dear friend 👋🏻😁 such a wonderful walk you had. Awwww she is helping joeys 🥰 how wonderful is that. Great you could visit her and she took you around.
And to find the festival too, what a luck.
Great captures!

Oh yes that was 5 non stop days of bliss in the bush and learning so many new things about those gorgeous little babies and how loving they are and soft their fur is.

So lucky to be there at that time too because I have always heard about the Jacaranda festival- people come from all over the world to see it, especially the Japanese because it is like their Cherry Blossom festival.

I can't believe it that I made it to PUD day too! I have missed far too many lately so I was very suprised and happy to be there and be able to Power up too!

Aawwww it sounds sooooooo 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 wonderful.

That’s great 😀 perfect timing it was. Lucky you.

Well done you, again perfect timing. Hehehe 🤭
Good to have you back my friend. Looking forward to new posts 👋🏻😊 have an amazing weekend!
Take care.

Woooooow
All pictures are amazing 😍
And I have never seen kangaroo, so, i am so happy after watching these pictures 💕

Oh wow, well I am so happy to have been able to introduce them to you!

And there will be much more about them coming soon!

Well, I am waiting for that (◔‿◔)

This is just too cute, I've always wanted to get closer to kangaroos, but there is really only one place to do it, but travel to OZ with the family isn't possible for visa and financial reasons.

Happy B-Day by the way, looks like you spent it well with an old friend. I can't help but looking at those shots and thinking a brown snake is hiding somewhere and a croc might be just under the surface of that water, but I guess that is my American imagination running wild with stereotypes provided by Crocodile Dundee.

Well, I guess it's the same here, my friends and family think I spend my days dodging landmines and king cobras, but it's actually way less exciting and dangerous.

Yes they are definitely misunderstood and seriously mistreated animals-especially by MOST Australians..and just as bad, the Govt...who not only allow horrendous cruelty, but actually actively encourage it- as you will hear when I share the doco on here that I'm making about Yurpia and her joeys (I've been madly editing for the past couple of days and am final roughcut stage...)

Lolsz about the snakes and crocs...Do you know that Crocs eyes glow red at night, so when you see them in the river, they look like the tail lights on cars....true!

So happy that you life over there is not as exciting and dangerous as your friends think it is!

I too would be worried!
And I'm very happy that you guys are where you are.
Infact I have been telling some of my work mates about you- as we all dream about going to Asia on holidays....

Wow -how cool is that - looking after orphaned joeys - kudos to your friend. And the local town looks fantastic !
!LUV

Yes, it is awesome and brave of her to care for the orphaned joey's..brave for many reasons, but not in the least is the emotional rollercoaster...AND being completely tied down and having to sleep with one eye open...

Anyway, if you're interested, I will be sharing a little doco on her with them on here soon.

I have been editing flat out for the past 2 days and onto a final rough cut now, so hopefully will finish it really soon!

So stay tuned for more!

That sounds pretty cool - would love to see it !!!

Lolsz-- can't wait to finish it!

Happy belated birthday wishes, Jacaranda have been top heavy with blooms this year after rains, now flamboyant trees start for Christmas how stunning both trees are.

Bush with little Joey's quite a task feeding and nurturing these little ones, great your friend has a place to act as foster Mom for awhile, awesome four legged companion too!

!LUV

Thanks for the BD wishes Joan, Another year that I'm not happy about- not when I haven't achieved my dreams yet!

But still trying..always going to try!

And yes those Jacarandas where heavenly, such a shame it was such a gray dull day as the photos don't do them justice.

Mind you, I'm so happy that I got to go there and see them as I have always wanted to!

Yes Yurpia is an incredible human being and such a strong woman. She only has her 16 year old son there to help here- when he's not at school, so she doesn't stop.

Stay tuned for more about her and the joeys coming soon!

Striving for something keeps us going, if we haven't got it we will find something to strive toward.

We also experiencing very intermittent weather, not normal pattern as one would expect, at least the flowers cheered you up.

Smallholdings raising young animals always full time round the clock commitment, one is often surprised by how much one is capable one tasking oneself to a lifestyle like that.

Interesting read. Bless your friend for caring for the orphaned Joeys.

Belated birthday dear, so happy to see these beautiful sights.. It good to reestablish such a place as I do love the natural forms of our environment and space can be created to rare cows elsewhere.
We have altered our natural habitat so much and that is the major climate problems we are having.

Am glad you had a fulfilling birthday walk.
Many happy returns dear. 🎉🎊🎉💖💃💃🎈🎈🎈

And its good that I follow up your post to learn more about Australia.
