There's a lot going on in the Salinental park Bad Kreuznach.

They are building an public indoor pool in addition to the existing open-air swimming pool which is also modernized at the moment.

The graduation walls, over which the salty air is distributed into the Nahe river valley between Bad Kreuznach and Bad Münster am Stein Ebernburg, are being refurbished.

"In the past the salt extraction process via brine trickling down through blackthorn brushwood stacked in large frames (graduation walls), was used not only to enrich the air with salty air but also to produce salt. The salt content being increased by natural evaporation."

"Using waterwheels, the brine was pumped seven times to the top of these graduation walls so that it could slowly trickle down again. It took a week for the salt content to reach 15-20%. The brine was then transferred to the boiling house where the salt was extracted."
