Good day dear Hive community, welcome to my new post and first of all I hope you had a great day and also wish you a good start to the weekend! Today I would like to show you some pictures of ancient Greek art and also to go into the background history.

I recently bought this wonderful greek vase and I had been thinking about buying such a mythological vase for a longer time. Although it is not an original vase from ancient times, it is based on this art form and was also made very authentically and also painted by hand. The vase is decorated from all sides with wonderful motifs and I am very enthusiastic about this unique work of art!

Pottery is one of the oldest professions of mankind and the first ceramic finds are already 20,000-25,000 years old! Back to ancient Greece where vase painting was divided into different main epochs, which ranged from about 2000 B.C. to 400 B.C and the most important types are Geometric, Corinthian, Black figure and Red figure pottery. Ancient Greece has reached an absolute cult status when it comes to ceramics and is one of the most famous in the world!

Various historical events and figures were often embodied on the vases, which express culture and mythology well and ceramic vases also played an important role in ancient Greece for the transport of different goods such as water or food. The production of these vases was already an elaborate process at that time, which took a lot of time and it was made from different clay types and the painting took place before the firing.

Thanks for your feedback

Wonderful vase. Very nice work of art but it's sad that we can't have original one.

Happy to hear that you like it too :) That’s true, it’s not so easy to get an original one, as nice as it would be. Thanks a lot for stopping by and have a nice day

We can imagine how precious these vases would have been during ancient time, even now they are handmade.

Hey @rocksg, I’m glad to hear your opinion and I can agree with that. It is definitely something special how the historical motifs make the vases look alive in their very own way. An absolute classic in the world of ceramics! Wish you a good day, stay well

Such things were used in earlier times but their beauty was much more beautiful than what we are seeing with a lot of painstakingly designed designs.

I am pleased to read your comment and opinion about this historical topic.
