Prase Mineral

in #photography11 months ago

Good day dear Hive Community, welcome to my new post and I wish you all a pleasant day that was hopefully full of positive experiences! Here I would like to present you a mineral that I photographed today and hope you like it and can even learn something new.

The mineral that can be seen here is a type of quartz that is also called prase and it is assigned to the mineral class of the oxides and consists mainly of silicum dioxide, which is responsible for the color. Name of this Mineral is derived from the Greek word prasos, which means leek and is often associated with the typical color of the mineral, which usually has a green to dark color.

Prase was first described in 1780 by the German natural scientist Johann Friedrich Gmelin (1748 - 1804) and I personally find the appearance very abstract and it forms prismatic crystals which can reach a size of up to 15 cm. The most important mining areas are Australia, Greece, Spain, Italy, USA and Africa and this specimen was found on the island of Elba.

Prase is often used for the processing of jewelry and is also used as a healing stone. It is said to have a calming effect and have a positive effect on general well-being and the mind. Also from spiritual point of view it is also a good companion for mediation and can affect the fourth of the seven chakras which is called Heart Chakra or Anahata. As always, it is important to mention with regard to the medical effect that you should always ask your doctor about the right medicine!

At the end of my post, I would like to go into the mythology of Prasem, which is strongly rooted in history. It was already known in Ancient Greece and was probably the basis of the Apollo Temple, which is located in Delphi. Symbolically Prasem has no unique meaning, but was also often seen as a protective stone.

Looks pretty. Its appearance is very much beautiful and color is also attractive. Its also looks like a plant. Its quite weird that how it have healing properties.

That's true! There are many minerals with healing properties, which of course must be considered as complementary medicine! From a pharmaceutical point of view, there are many minerals that are interesting as trace elements and for the production of medicine. Thank you for showing interest in this rare topic and I wish you a nice day :)

I really love the very tiny crystals formed in it.
