Good evening Hiveians,

It is a beautiful Sunday here in Ilorin, Kwara state. Today my church marks its 24th anniversary and so we were told to put on our best traditional attire. Kwara state falls under the Yoruba tribe although we all come from different state but the fact that the church is situated in a Yoruba region most of the attires worn we're Yoruba attire. Igbos too wear it some of it too like Ankara and lace sometimes but its not their traditional attire.

Below is a picture of a family all in yoruba attire. The man and the kids are putting on "Buba and Soro" while the woman is putting on a beautiful lace "Iro and Buba".

Below I'll be showing the pictures I took with the name of their attire.

  • She is putting on a beautiful white lace "Buba and Soro with gele(headgear)"

  • She's putting on a simple lace gown with material added.

  • He is putting on a typical Yoruba traditional male attire. This is worn during special gatherings like traditional weddings, naming ceremonies and special occasions.

  • The first two ladies are putting on Ankara gowns which is a traditional clothes for mainly all tribes in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. While the other lady is putting on a lace gown.

  • He's putting on Buba and Soro.

  • He's also putting on Buba and Soro.

  • Here is a picture on myself in a lovely lace gown.

Thanks for viewing my blog and stay safe as lockdown starts in Nigeria tomorrow.
