[Fotowalk] Die Marienkirche in Halle - The Church of St. Mary in Halle

Hallo zusammen,

Halle an der Saale is in Saxony-Anhalt, there I visited the Marienkirche at the market place. It is actually nothing special, but this church is closed because of construction work. But I had the opportunity to get in there with my camera, of course with permission.

In this St. Mary's Church Martin Luther, from 1545 to 1546, preached to the Reformed congregation. The organ in the picture was inaugurated in 1716 in the presence of Johann Sebastian Bach. This organ is gigantic, too bad I could not hear its sound.

The pulpit is made of sandstone, the work is built uniformly with one of the pillars. The wooden sound cover represents a star octagonal in the basic shape. The small 2nd above it is supported by eight columns. On top of it there is the transfiguration of Christ. Very impressive how much detail is put into a pulpit like this.

On the other side of the large organ is another small organ. But more impressive is the large painting, the decoration of the columns and round arches. That one does not know where to look first. But I have no time, because the guard is already looking at the clock. I am sure that this church has much more to offer, which is worth a second visit. That's it from me again, I wish you all a nice evening. I hope we read each other next time.

Was ist da verloren gegangen?
