Richfield is such a pretty little town that is probably not on most people’s maps, so I figured I’d share a few pictures, now that I’ve visited a few times and actually took the time to snap a few shots.

Very rural small town, it got its name when settled by the Mormons due to its fertile soil and is surrounded by much farmland, along with a few horses as seen in the photo above, and sheep and what not as well. It is located in south-central Utah, situated in the fertile Central Valley surrounded by beautifully colored mountains. Below is one photo from the local park I hung out with my dog last weekend when I ran into town for a few groceries.

It’s over 100 miles south of Salt Lake City and west of Green River and Moab, and although a really small town it also serves a really large surrounding area of rural community, seeing as its the only town with major amenities anywhere around. So although small, it’s got everything one could need, including laundromats, hotels, Walmart, a grocery store, park, library, restaurants, thrift stores, and a number of other shops and stores and so on.

What I really appreciate about it is this combination of scenic setting, small town feeling, all the basic necessities and more but without the crazy traffic that come with most bigger towns and cities.

Anyway, not sure there’s much more to say, as I’m just visiting, and probably won’t ever actually end up living here, but it’s definitely a scenic little town to visit for the basic necessities until I move on from the area...

Some irrigated green farmland below; apart from irrigated sections of land, this region is extremely dry and brown right now.

So much like Arizona there.
