As we already know, most spiders are indeed predators (carnivores) and their main prey is insects.
Each type of spider has developed in its own way to catch its prey. For example, a weaver's spider will create silk webs between leaves and twigs, in front of rock fractures, in the corners of buildings, and others to catch flying insects into their prey.
Some profit spiders do not make nets, but attack or hunt their prey (jumping spider), or even lure it into a noose. Spiders of this type are usually more active, they explore the trees, the sidelines of grass, or the surface of a rocky wall to find its prey. This spider can catch up and jump to pounce on its prey.
Here are some pictures of spiders in my collection that are catching their prey.

The female Oxyopes spider in the subordo Araneomorphae with its prey, damselfly.

A rainbow jumping spider with its prey, ants.

Jumping spider with its prey, tiny white insect (Ormenoides venusta). These jumping spiders make nests in the corners of the wall.

A tiny jumping spider on the leaf with its prey, mosquito.

A tiny metalic green jumping spider on the leaf with its prey, ant.

Three orb weaver spiders (Argiope aurantia) with their prey of dragonflies stuck on their nets.
