"Mini-Greenhouse Project Part 2”
Last Saturday was pretty good weather to paint the mini-greenhouse frame. Ok... I and my husband said goodbye to the old shed's depressing-looking frame. My husband's theme is "Shabby Chic" because we are living on the East coast. Also, we lived near the South coast called the "Shonan area" in Japan before we came to Canada. There are many cool cafes exactly like Shabby Chic. Near the ocean, paint rusts pretty quickly but they look very cool actually. Additionally, we can use the old wood instead of painting it all the time.
"ミニ温室計画パート２”
土曜日はいい天気だったので、ミニ温室の枠組みと窓に色を塗りました。ようやく疲れ切った古い物置にサヨナラできます。主人のテーマは”シャビーシック”だそうです。現在海の近くの東海岸に住んでいるのと、カナダに来る前に湘南エリアに近い場所に住んでいたので、そのあたりのカフェ的なイメージです。海の近くは潮風ですぐに傷んでしまうのでシャビーシックに自然となります。そう言ってしまえば、何度も塗り直さなくて楽だという利点もありますね。
First of all, we used masking tape to protect the windows. I really respect carpenters or handy people. I couldn't seal it quickly. My dog looks like he is a chief of carpenters. After sealing the windows, we used turquoise blue spray cans to color them. Someone recommended using spray paint for these kinds of thin small spots. Yes, it was easy and quick. However, it wasn't easy for me to color equally.
まずは、マスキングテープで窓を保護しました。大工さんや日曜大工が得意な人を尊敬します。全然スムーズにマスキングできませんでした。わたしの犬は現場監督のように見えます。窓の保護をした後は、ターコイズブルーのスプレーで色を入れました。このくらいの部分を塗るにはスプレー缶が楽だと聞いたのでやってみました。かなり楽ちんでした。ただ、色が均等にのるようにスプレーするのは簡単ではなかったです。
Phew... I was a little bit nervous because I didn't want to make a big mistake. It looks like a pretty nice color. We waited for around 2 hours to dry completely.
ふう。失敗したくはないので、少し緊張しました。いい色合いです。完全に乾くまで２時間位放置しました。
My husband covered the frames with see-through walls. Green nails look good on them. After finishing, he is going to glue with clear glue for the gaps between each wall. He only finished the front side. He will do the right side and the backside little by little. Eventually, we probably are going to reinstall a new roof someday in the future. The weather is still unstable here. Now it's raining again. After this cold spring rain, I think it's ready to plant more seeds outside or inside of this greenhouse. People say, after the full moon, we are ready to start gardening!
半透明のプラスチック製の壁で少しずつ枠組みを覆いました。緑の釘がけっこういい感じに見えます。今度透明のグルーで隙間を埋める予定です。今回は正面だけ終わりました。右側と裏側は少しずつ取り組むそうです。屋根はゆくゆく新しいものに変える予定です。天気がまだ不安定で、今日は雨です。この冷たい春の雨の後はいよいよ本格的に庭や温室で種まきをスタートできそうです。満月の後に種まきをするといいと誰かが言っていました！

ミニ温室計画、進んでいますね。
確かに今の時期は、お天気とにらめっこしながらの活動になりますよね。
窓枠のターコイズブルー、とても良い感じできれいです！
少しずつ出来上がっていくのが本当に楽しみです(^^)
わんちゃんが現場監督、というのに笑ってしまいましたが、本当に監督のようです。
わたしは記録係と作業を手伝うだけですが、それでも手作業はなかなかの労力が必要だなぁと実感してます。続きは少しずつ作っていきたいです。犬は最近落ち着いてきたので邪魔をせずに見守ってくれます^_^
ターコイズブルーがとってもイイ感じです！
出来上がるのが楽しみですね〜
もう少し時間がかかりそうですが完成楽しみです〜。まだまだ朝晩が寒いのでもう少し種を植えるのを待っています。昼頃の温室内はとてもいい感じに温かいです！
