No, not that road. It would be nice if our road was so straight…

In true, we had to start our journey very early — 3:30 in the morning, since the voyage takes at least 15 hours…

…filled with marks of turbulent Balkan history. Like for example, Maglič fort…

Maglič is a 13th-century castle about 20 km south of Kraljevo, Serbia. The castle is located at the top of a hill below which there’s a valley of the river Ibar. It was built for the reson of control and protection to the only road that connected the Great Morava Valley and Kosovo polje in medieval times. It was named by the usual weather conditions in that part of Serbia — Maglič can be translated as “Fog Castle”. We have passed by it early in the morning, Sun still hasn’t rise, and we could see how appropriate its name was.

Maglič was included on the list of Cultural Monuments of Exceptional Importance in 1979. We couldn’t visit the castle itself, because we didn’t have much time, and there were other things we planned to visit down the road. Our next stop is one even older building — Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul…
