After the second World War, the great sculpting artist Zadkine, made this wonderful statue.
“The Man without a heart”
It emphasizes the city of Rotterdam, which lost its heart (city centre) after the bombing of the city by the Nazi’s the May 1940.
Today Rotterdam is a modern “bubbling” city with great architecture, of which this statue has become an important part.
