Crossing the border between Chile and Argentina via Ryta 60 (in Chile, in Argentina it turns into Ruta 7), you should definitely stop for at least half an hour and walk to the view point at the highest peak of both Americas, Mount Aconcagua. Its height is 6961 m, and even if it does not look particularly high here, this is because it is quite far away.
The sight is worth the time, there you can see the mountain a little better and the surrounding nature is more beautiful than if you look from the viewpoint, which is practically on the road. The photo was taken from Laguna de Horcones, about 10 minutes from the road and from the entrance to Parque provincial Aconcagua. If you go further along the trail past this lake, you can come to the base camp — Camp Confluencia in about a couple of hours of trekking (one way).
