A beautiful day in the Spirit of Woodstock

Hey Hivers!

Yesterday afternoon we had the opportunity to play at the opening of Elliott Landy´s Woodstock Vision. The comprehensive show of works by Elliott Landy, who as a music photographer was permitted to take pictures on the Woodstock stage in August 1969, shows moments that convey the spirit of Woodstock. On display in a large repurposed commercial space in Charlottenburg, Berlin is a collection of photographs from the Woodstock festival and from different performance venues in New York City circa 1968-69. A rather incredible atmosphere for avid music fans.

In the spirit of Woodstock, we took to the stage to play one of our original songs inspired by the southern Blues rock - Americana music of the era and to make a short introduction about how Woodstock and many of the artists that performed there had influenced our music over time.

After the performance, we had to run off and head back east to Friedrichshain to perform onstage for a Benefits Concert for the local initiatives supporting Ukrainian refugees in Berlin. It was a surreal day, first to pay homage to woodstock, then to take the stage and deliver an electric performance to raise funds for those affected by a horrible war. In the end we raised more than 3.000euro that will go toward food and supplies for the temporary housing for refugees. We are thankful for all the people that came to support and donate, and honored to be able to make a small contribution towards being welcoming neighbors.
