Good evening! Today I decided to share a couple of photographs depicting the Danish city of Aalborg situated in North Jutland. Aalborg was, with both the good and the bad, the place where I lived for 3 years (more specifically between 2017 to 2020) throughout my bachelor studies abroad at Aalborg University (AAU).
Aalborg is Denmark's 4th most populous city and a major hub for technology, innovation, and education in Northern Europe. It is home to a huge number of annual Erasmus students, local Danish students, and full time foreign bachelor or master students. It is city which boasts of medieval architecture and a lot of landscapes reminiscent to the Viking Age, especially the Lindholm Høje area across the bridge to Nørresundby.
While I know I'm no professional photographer, I tried my best to capture interesting bits of the city during some of my night walks there. I liked doing night walks in an attempt to cool off during the stress that was triggered by the exam sessions. That being said, Aalborg has some interesting sights to see and, it might come off as some sort of an exaggeration, but I always consider these types of cities like Aalborg more beautiful during night time than they are during daylight.
The photographs enlisted below were all taken by me with an iPhone 5G shortly before I decided to drop-out of AAU due to a tremendous amount of personal and external reasons which were equally coupled by the COVID-19 worldwide mayhem. Without further ado, I hope you'll like some of them. Enjoy!
