Servus miteinander!
Heute darf ich euch eine weitere atemberaubende Klettertour vom sogenannten Sisi-Klettersteig auf den Loser vorstellen. Der Sisi-Steig ist nach der Kaiserin Elisabeth „Sisi“ benannt, die Überlieferungen zufolge als begeisterte Bergliebhaberin den Loser selbst besteigen haben soll. Der Klettersteig ist mit der Schwierigkeit C/D ausgeswiesen und deshalb gar nicht so einfach zu klettern. Die Route führt 400 Höhenmeter bis auf kleine Ausnahmen geradlinig auf den Gipfel des Loser.

Today I can present you another breathtaking climbing tour from the so-called Sisi via ferrata on the Loser. The Sisi Climb is named after Empress Elisabeth "Sisi", who is said to have climbed the Loser herself as an enthusiastic mountain lover. The via ferrata is marked with the difficulty C/D and therefore not so easy to climb. The route leads 400 meters in altitude, with small exceptions, straight to the summit of the Loser.
Der Loser liegt im Steirischen Salzbkammergut am wunderschönen Altausseer See. Diese Region gilt aufgrund ihrer geographischen Lage als das Herz von Österreich und bietet Sommerfrischler reichlich Angebot in der traumhaften Gegend Aktivitäten zu unternehmen, oder sich einfach nur wohlzufühlen. Ich entschied mich natürlich für die actionreiche Variante und bestritt gemeinsam mit einer Freundin den ambitionierten Sisi-Klettersteig.
The Loser is located in the Steirisches Salzkammergut on the beautiful Altausseer Lake. This region is considered due to its geographical location as the heart of Austria and offers summer visitors plenty of activities in the beautiful area to undertake, or just feel good. Of course, I opted for the action-packed option and together with a friend we tackled the ambitious Sisi via ferrata.
Auf die leichte Schulter sollte man den „Eisernen Weg“ nicht nehmen. Denn der Klettersteig hat teilweise sogar schwierige D-Stellen zu bieten. Trittfestigkeit, Kraft und Schwindelfreiheit gehören zur physischen Grundausstattung, wenn man den Klettersteig erfolgreich bezwingen möchte. Schon beim Einstieg geht’s gleich ordentlich zu Sache. Ein Kletterer vor uns musste nach wenigen Metern bereits wieder umkehren, da er offensichtlich Schwierigkeiten hatte, sich am senkrechten Fels fortzubewegen. Wir hatten zwar noch nicht so viele Erfahrungen in Sachen Klettersteig, doch wir meisterten den Aufstieg dank unserer Flinkheit doch ganz passabel.
The "Iron Route" should not be taken lightly. The via ferrata even has some difficult D sections. Tread resistance, strength and a head for heights are part of the basic physical equipment if you want to successfully conquer the via ferrata. Right from the start, it's a real challenge. A climber in front of us had to turn back after only a few meters because he obviously had difficulties moving on the vertical rock. We didn't have that much experience with via ferrata, but thanks to our nimbleness we managed the climb quite well.
Am Gipfel wurden wir mit einer traumhaften Aussicht belohnt. Auch wenn es an diesem Tag etwas bewölkt war, hatte man einen tollen Blick auf Bad Aussee, Altaussee und den Altausseer See, sowie die zahlreichen umliegenden Berggipfel. Der Rückweg zum Ausgangspunkt war sehr gemütlich, doch ein Zwischenstop auf der Loser Alm musste natürlich auch noch sein. Mit einem kühlen Bier und einer deftigen Portion „Kasspotzn“ wurde der Tag perfekt abgerundet.
At the summit we were rewarded with a fantastic view. Even though it was a bit cloudy that day, we had a great view of Bad Aussee, Altaussee and Altausseer See, as well as the numerous surrounding mountain peaks. The way back to the starting point was very comfortable, but a stop at the Loser Alm had to be of course. With a cool beer and a hearty portion of "Kasspotzn" (little cheese dumps) the day was rounded off perfectly.
