Of all our headaches with the extraction and use of fossil fuels, the greatest of all is the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere, the raw material that constitutes fossil fuels has been fixing the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and burying it underground in the form of coal and oil among others.
De todos nuestros quebraderos de cabeza con la extracción y utilización de combustibles fósiles el mayor de todos es la emisión de CO2 a la atmósfera, la materia prima que constituye los combustibles fósiles ha ido fijando el dióxido de carbono sobrante de la atmósfera y enterrándolo bajo tierra en forma de carbón y petróleo entre otros.
All this retained gas is released into the atmosphere when we burn these fossil fuels for energy and, since we are so donkeys, the release of such a quantity of CO2 breaks the natural balance and this accumulates in the atmosphere producing the known greenhouse effect that causes the warming of our planet.

In recent years, in an attempt to avoid or at least reduce these emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the whole world is working together to change our energy consumption habits towards other types of methods of obtaining energy that are more sustainable than not implies the destruction of the only planet we have.
En los últimos años en un intento por evitar o al menos reducir estas emisiones de dióxido de carbono a la atmósfera el mundo entero se está poniendo las pilas para cambiar nuestros hábitos de consumo energético hacia otro tipo de métodos de obtención de energía mas sostenible que no impliquen la destrucción del único planeta que tenemos.
But that is easier said than done, despite the incredible advances in obtaining solar energy or in battery storage we need time to get everything going, in the meantime we demonize everything that smells like CO2 and as a result everything indicates that we are approaching an unprecedented energy crisis.

As an intermediate solution, a group of scientists from the University of Australia have developed a method to convert CO2 into a chemical fuel that can be used as an energy source, by combining certain metals with ferroelectric material, these produce a chemical reaction capable of reducing the CO2.
Como solución intermedia un grupo de científicos de la Universidad de Australia han desarrollado un método para convertir el CO2 en un combustible químico que puede utilizarse como fuente de energía, mediante la combinación de ciertos metales con material ferroeléctrico estos producen una reacción química capaz de reducir al CO2.
If this project can be implemented, systems could be designed to collect the CO2 emissions of the current facilities based on fossil fuels, while we are making a smoother transition towards the use of clean energies without having to ruin the world economy along the way.
De conseguir poner en marcha este proyecto se podrían diseñar sistemas para recoger las emisiones de CO2 de las instalaciones actuales basabas en combustibles fósiles, mientras vamos haciendo una transición más suave hacia el uso de energías limpias sin tener que arruinar la economía mundial por el camino.
